The food is always amazing but had to write a review as the staff were so kind and patient with my family who had an injured foot. Awesome place. Totally recommend!

We’re so happy that Ramen Takeya is back! We did a take out of their Ramen because I am immunocompromised. I’m having Chemo. Everything taste awful while having Chemo and I ate everything even to the last drop because somehow I can still taste how delicious the broth, noodle and meat. Just like it was when they use to occupy the top place. Thank you so much for coming back to our neighborhood, the Fulton Market. Please do not ever close anymore. We need quality, delicious healing food like your Ramen!

A hip and trendy ramen spot in West Loop’s Fulton Market that doesn’t take reservations, so maybe expect a wait if you go at popular dinner times. Luckily, my friends and I got the last available table at 6 on a Friday, so we were seated immediately. The space is small and cozy, and the vibes were casual. The service is friendly and pretty quick.

They have a mix of ramen, rice bowls, steamed bao buns, and small plates, but I opted for just ramen and got the Tokyo Classic Shoyu. It was quite delicious and satisfying, though the broth was too salty— the saltiness in the broth unfortunately overpowered its other fragrant and hearty flavors. The noodles were well-cooked though and had a nice texture. The bamboo was soft and chewy, the egg delicious. The pork belly char siu was extremely tender, fatty, and flavorful. The ingredients in the bowl were great overall and fresh— my only real complaint was the saltiness of the broth, which unfortunately diminished the consumption experience.

Prices are pretty high ($16-17 per bowl), but standard for the area. I’ve only been to one other ramen spot in West Loop, but I would say the whole package (noodles + ingredients + broth) tasted better and fresher here. Overall, I was a fan and would like to try their vegan ramen in the future.

Best ramen ever. Chicken paitan is delicious and the brussel sprouts!!

Edit: since my last review- nothing has changed. Its still the best ramen. Service is great and now anothe favorite staple is the fried chicken buns. Yum.

We were told “just a moment” and after we stood at the entrance for 20 minutes the same server asked if we were here for take out. It wasn’t even that busy. We ordered our food and didn’t even get the appetizers until after 45 minutes. A homeless man started entering the store and abusing the customers. The servers and staff acted as if nothing was happening and completely neglected the situation. This continued for another 30 minutes and we still had not received a bowl of ramen after an hour and 30 minutes. People who had ordered way after us were getting their food first so we asked them what was taking so long. It was obvious they forgot our order from the body language but the server’s best excuse was “we just put in your noodles it will be out shortly” After wasting all this time we told them if they didn’t start making it now, just cancel the order so we can take our business elsewhere. Their best response was “ok bye” and they immediately started cleaning our table. I dont care how good the ramen is, this place is a disgrace to its name and I am outraged that people even pay them money. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.

The ramen is absolutely amazing, but the fried chicken and pork belly buns were so, so delicious! The place is small and friendly... the service is great.

Foods are decent. But not the service. A waitress brought us a small bowl of fried chicken nuggets (like 6 pieces or so in total) when she put the bowl on the table she dropped a big piece of nugget on table, which also turned out to be the largest one amongst all. She didn’t apologize, didn’t mention it, didn’t bring us a replacement, excuse me???

Pretty bad, frankly.

Food was good, service wasn't. The young lady forgot half of the things we ordered, asked if we wanted the check before bringing to us the main course and handed a machine where the three pptions for tip were 20, 22 or 25%.
Offensive, even for Chicago’s Fulton market area

Just popped in for dinner with my sister Sunday 4/2 around 745. Food took forever (pretty sure they forgot about our table) and it tasted lack luster. We both got chicken instead of pork with our ramen. The chicken was dry and inedible. The server barely came to check on us. When we asked for our check she then pushed other tables around us to close their checks too. Don’t recommend especially when there are other better ramen spots nearby.

I think this restuarant is ok. Karaage chicken was mediocre- not crispy enough and minimal flavor. Ramen had good flavor. I enjoyed the broth of the Tokyo classic ramen.

My rating doesn't include the poor service. Had a waiter in training who forgot to put in our appetizers. That wasn't too big of a deal and I was understanding. I told the staff that was training him that we didn't get our karaage and would like to still order it. Was misunderstood again and 20 minutes later was asked if we were doing ok and was told "oh we thought you canceled your order." I am understanding of mistakes but it took them 20 mins to come over to us to check in , in a not so busy restaurant. Then took forever to get the bill. I thought it was poor customer service that they didn't take the appetizer off the bill after all of that. The trainee was very nice and apologetic. The supervising staff not so much.
