Eataly is a cool store full of things to prepare Italian food, and they also have a small area where they serve Italian food. The pasta I ordered was unimaginatively prepared and substantially inferior to the food I ate in Italy this summer. The Italian food I prepare at home is better—and I'm not Italian. I would go back to Eataly to shop, but never to dine.
The salmon and flank steak was very good. The server dropped the appetizer dish and wouldn't listen to us when we wanted to cancel that part of the order. The waiter was very slow in coming to our table, in taking our order and outright nasty when we told him we wanted to cancel our appetizer. It was almost impossible to get him to come back with the bill, I was ready to walk out, and no one probably would have noticed. Would not eat there again, although the store itself is great and they have some very interesting food items for sale.
Overall the food is excellent and original with the Italian tradition. However prices are absurd and crazy especially for the wines. $25 for tasting three types of wine ( the wine flight) is a legalized theft! That's why I didn't buy any wine.
Vino &... was fabulous! Thoroughly enjoyed our pizzas and pasta. Wines (both reds and whites) were delicious. Service from Derrick was great. Highly recommend making a reservation. Overall great experience. Don't miss!
We were not properly greeted by our server, he wasn't very engaging with us but was very engaging with his other tables. Never offered us wine, no non-alcoholic beverages for our kids. They had one bottle of water, the 4 of us drank from that bottle no one came to bring another bottled of water for us. Had to ask 5 people for red pepper flakes before someone actually brought it to us. We could've asked but our server would be at our table for a split second and he's gone because he has other tables he's waiting as he said. Two ladies came and sat next to us and he offered them wine samples. My kids asked for Coke our food was done our dessert was done and then he brought them the Coke. The food was not that good at all. Pizza was the only thing that was worth even eating. I would never come back to eat here or even recommend Eataly. Not a very good experience.
Made a reservation for 3. Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. Restaurant seemed steady, not overly busy. We were served water immediately but then never saw our server. After about 20 minutes of waiting for service, we asked if we could order. We were told to wait for our server but he never even came to our table and nobody seemed to care. We ended up leaving around the 30 min mark of waiting.
Two quick things: 1. I seriously wish the words "you guys" would be stricken from the vocabulary of every server/host in the world. We are your customers, and that means 'ma'am' and 'sir', not "you guys". 2. Caprese salad is distinguished by the sensory qualities of the basil: the appearance, the aroma, the flavor, taste, and the texture that it adds to the other ingredients. There should be more than 2 miniscule pieces of basil on the plate, and the server shouldn't have to be embarrassed to bring 2 basil leaves and be apologizing for it. There should be at least 1/3 as much green as red on the plate.
Local Chicagoans, took Mom for one of Eataly's summer wine tastings, then dinner at Vino & after. It was a perfect evening. We had cocktails, split the seasonal salad and all had pasta dishes with the recommended wine pairings - and everything was delicious! The salad was a good size to split for 3 of us and full of fresh summer flavors. We also split the Budino for dessert - it was more than enough with its decadent layers of chocolate and thick whipped cream. We'll be back!
Waiter was distracted and had an attitude & didn't seem to care if we were there or not. The clams in my dish were sandy/hadn't been cleaned properly & there was absolutely no flavor to my dish. Extremely disappointed in a meal that was on the higher end.
Pasta was a bit bland. Sauce was bland as was the cheese. Fettuccine was different widths and therefore the wider pieces were undercooked. Was surprised since the last time we were there, the food was so much better. Service was fine. Would not eat there again.

Wonderful experience. Even better than Eataly in Paris. Good food especially the Freshly made Burrata. Very good friendly service. Restaurant is upstairs. Great hustle and bustle on first floor supermarket.
The food at Vino & NEVER disappoints. We lived in Italy for over 6 years, and this is our go-to place for food that tastes like "home" and is prepared like "home".
Disappointing at best. Took out of town guests here last night. The server was mia most of the time and when he did come to the table he whispered. He was not versed on the menu or drink menu. Swordfish was salty. Fetucine was like a kids portion. Totally embarrassing for what we thought would be a great experience. Hit or miss. Choose wisely.
Easily one of the most over priced restaurants we've ever been to. Being vegetarians, we understand going in Italian food will likely be overpriced. However this place was to the next level. I would t recommend it to my fellow vegetarians
We walked in with a reservation, and we sat there waiting for 30 minutes while people who came here after us got to eat first, while the only thing we had was water, and waiters ignoring us. I do not reccomend this place at all. We got up and left and nobody gave us an explanation what so ever. Horrible service for Mothers Day! ... More
