We went here to watch the Festival of Lights parade. That was ok but the service was really bad. Took 20 minutes to make the Shrimp Tempura deluxe roll. My friend had her Entree 15 minutes before I did. They brought the wrong sushi roll to our table twice. Just trying to get water was a joke. The server was fastest when we got the check. She never checked in on us. The hostess was the best part.

Ambiance wasn't great, chairs were peeling and overall seemed a little run down. Food was not good. We were really hoping for a great sushi dinner. We couldn't even finish our sushi rolls and had to go to another restaurant afterwards.

The food was phenomenal. The service was excellent. The ambience was perfect. This is by far the best sushi I have ever had and I've been to 60 countries. I would come back to Chicago just to have sushi here at Rebar.

Had an awful experience. We went there for dinner and we got to eat half of what we ordered (food was average at best). When we asked our waitress about the rest, she remembered she hadn't put in the order and after we waited for 45 minutes, we finally gave up after asking for her three times and asked for the check. She then proceeded to proudly announce she had taken the missing items off our check. Offensive to say the least. I understand mistakes happen and some things are beyond control, but her attitude was uncaring and rude, giving excuses that made no sense. I would never, in a hundred years, recommend this place.

Beautiful atmosphere with awesome views of the city from nearly every table. Our server was attentive and kind. Huge selection of drinks and the sushi was delicious! The truffle tuna starter is a must have!!

This apparently performs quite well as a nightclub because as a restaurant it's meh. Had to hunt down someone to seat us. Menu offerings are one very spaced page. Blaring electronic music at 5 pm. Sushi was okay but not spectacular. They don't offer dessert. Highest point was my mixed drink (but that was >$20).
Server was high on something. But I guess that doesn't matter because of the automatic 20% tip they charge on every single bar tab.

The food and atmosphere were amazing. The service from everyone except our server was amazing. Our server never introduced herself. She seemed totally disinterested. I had to ask the assistant about ordering our meals after we ordered and finished the appetizers. Still, it was an amazing experience. The views alone were worth writing home about. Did I mention amazing sushi? It was absolutely delicious.

Made a reservation as a birthday surprise for my husband. When we got there, no one was at the door to greet, seat us or check us in for the reservation. We had to walk over the bar and the kind man working behind the bar promised to find a seat for us as soon as he could (was there alone and the only one who could take food and drink orders). There were already about 10 tables with guests and some sitting at the bar that this one bartender was trying to serve. The establishment was supposed to be having a happy hour from 5-7. We arrived at 615. No mention of the happy hour drinks were made at all, and it was no where on the drinks menu. Service was understandably a little slow and inattentive, but the bartender was doing his best, being the only one who could take orders. Drinks were good, food was average, we won't be back.
