This is literally the best dive bar I've ever been to and was treated like family from day 1. Big shout out to Melissa who makes life better every time I walk in the door

TL;DR Reed's is not a safe place. The owners don't believe victims while attempting to project a completely different image to the public. Performative allyship at its finest.
Story and context below:
I regularly attended book club at this bar for about a year and a half. After the bar owner (who also runs the book club) found out about sexual assault allegations against a member of the club, the situation was not taken seriously. No action taken by the bar owners. No communication. Even after it was made clear that many of these accusations tool place within their bar.
The owners made no effort to resolve the situation for at least SIX months and ultimately had to be confronted by a group of club members with concerns. Shortly after that confrontation the book club was cancelled with the supposed reasoning being personal in nature and completely unrelated to what we discussed.
Since this all occurred, at least one of the owners has been making up rumors about myself and multiple other members of the group who brought the issues to them.
No apologies to the group. No acknowledging that they could've handled the situation better. Apparently just a hope that people will forget and move on.

Great dive bar with no frills, neighbor vibes and a CASH ONLY bar (ATM on the premise). Can't beat the prices for cheap beers like Hamm's and handshake combos. Karaoke night is also very lively.

Last week our local gardening group held a movie marathon and craft get -together at Reeds. Melissa was an absolute dream, not just for bartending that night but also bringing in her own crafting materials and coloring books to share. This was my first time at Reeds and I've never been so comfortable as a petite lady coming into a bar that, from the outside, has a dive appearance. Inside its all warmth and community. I especially loved the nostalgic punk 'zine bar menus and pinball machines. I'd call it an old bar with lots of charm and where you feel immediately like you belong. 10/10
