This place is amazing to sit and chat and drink, the service and food are excellent and the atmosphere too, it's quite nice... I went with a girl and she really liked it... I recommend you visit it on a Friday for Happy Hour and stay trying what catches your attention

Parking: You can park in front and on the sides of the building... there is plenty of space for the place

We moseyed down to this place because it’s close to home and we really really want something to thrive in this spot. We NEED a neighborhood tavern to walk to watch games. They have lots of tvs and they had the Cubs game on. We met Agnes the owner and she was lovely. The menu is small but there is something for everyone. We ordered buffalo wings and a bacon jalapeño honey pizza. Honestly the wings were really good but the pizza was amazing. Agnes explained to us that everything is made in house. Even the pizza dough. Alex the bartender made me an amazing craft cocktail called The Traveler. It was delicious! The esthetics were a little confusing. The interior is exposed brick and wood beams and reminds me of an old castle. There are tables and banquets around the perimeters of the space. There are no tables in the center of the room that makes it look like a huge dance floor leaving the space feeling cold and barren. The atmosphere is a work in progress and we were told that they are still working on it. The food and service were top notch and I can’t wait to go back to try some other menu items. This place has incredible potential to become the neighborhood tavern that is greatly needed in our area! Kudos to Agnes and her vision of becoming just that kind of place!Update: We went back tonight. Ordered the wings again and the bruschetta and the croquettes. All were amazing! The drinks were awesome but they need to make them a bit quicker. I get that they are still working out the kinks but 30 minutes of waiting for three drinks, which two were the same, is a bit long to wait and we were the only patrons in the place. Also they didn’t bus the table from our appetizers. We stacked our plates up ourselves and waited for them to pick them up which they never did. We planned on ordering dinner but gave up after being there for over an hour and decided to eat dinner somewhere else. It’s still very confusing about the atmosphere. It’s very unwelcoming. Cold and austere. Again there is lots of potential in the space but not somewhere that you necessarily want to go and have dinner and take your kids. Just not our cup of tea. I wish it was.

Do not, do not get the bracelet for drinking! If you do you will be served after all the cash paying customers and they will limit your drinking and water down the drinks! By the time you get your drinks you will be wondering why you got the bracelet. Food is OK but not enough workers they need Mexicans! I suggest pregaming it 1st and the drinks from this place will keep you balanced ?

The quaint Retro Cafe & Restaurant in Chicago blends delicious food with a vintage atmosphere. This restaurant offers a distinctive eating experience for those looking for a flavor of the past together with wonderful food. It is situated in a hip neighborhood.Retro Cafe and Restaurant's retro-inspired decor is without a doubt its best feature. The atmosphere emits a lovely nostalgia that transports you back in time, from the decor to the menu design. It's a pleasant place to unwind because of the antique artifacts and vintage posters that help to create a cozy and welcoming ambiance.
