I still think about this place, and it's always the first place I think of when guests are here and we want Japanese. Please come back. This was something special in the city.

This is the best bang for buck place to get amazing high-quality nigiri. My favorite is the fatty yellow tail and salmon. They also provide real wasabi if you order nigiri. Ringo is an absolute bargain and one of my favorite sushi spots in Chicago

Fantastic place for pub-style Japanese food. The tsukune skewers and ebi tendon (tempura over rice) stole the show! The tempura was reminiscent of Japan. The service was fantastic, and there wasn’t a bad dish. All I can say is it’s a one of one Japanese restaurant in Chicago. I’m so glad we found this place! Also, I saw the chef serve omakase at the bar, and the menu has solid sushi options such as bluefin tuna (fatty) and salt-water eel (anago).Like I said though, to me, the skewers and tempura really stole the show. Please visit as it’s a restaurant that deserves way more recognition!

Rare authentic japanese in approachable neighborhood restaurant. Sashimi includes scallop and better tuna and fish cuts than other restaurants. Kagomori included egg custard, shrimp, grilled eel and two cuts of tuna sashimi. Great natto appetizer.Chef was in and visible on a Saturday lunch, which is a nice touch to know your getting the best quality. Pleasant ambience with all place settings out. Will try tempura and toban yaki next time. Excellent price for quality.

The quality of the fish here, (sashimi and nigiri) is some of the best I've had in years. There are also some excellent appetizers and main dishes. Moderate pricing makes this place a value for the quality.

We ordered 2 lunch bentos and both were great. Lots of food for an affordable price. Nice and friendly Japanese staff. Clean bathrooms too! Would love to come again :)
