This is literally one of the best restaurants I’ve ever had in my life! From the carrot cake to the chicken pot pie with no mushrooms might I add, this is the best food ever. Then you added in a cocktail, which is literally a top five cocktail for me all time. The cinnamon apple old fashioned. When I travel back to Chicago I am going to be here very regularly!!

I came here for the view of the river for st.pattys day. The view is perfect. The service is also outstanding. However, the food is just ok. I ordered shrimp toast and pork belly. Both had no flavor. I would go back but maybe for drinks only.

Had a fantastic dinner at River Roast the other night. We started with the Golden Gobbets—crispy fried chicken bites drizzled with honey; absolutely addictive. For the main course, we shared the Roast Beef, carved tableside and cooked to perfection; tender and flavorful. The side of Mac & Cheese was creamy and had this killer garlic herb crust. With a couple of craft beers each, our bill came to about $150 for two people. The riverside view added a nice touch to the whole experience. Definitely planning to come back.

Was here before and maybe today was just a bad day… but my wife got probably the blandest salad and I had a pot pie which was 90% chicken noodle soup:( maybe wrong items to get but definitely not great for the price …. Server was great although they seemed understaffed

From the moment we arrived, we loved the atmosphere! The hostess was very accommodating and kind. We sat at the bar to wait for an outside table, and this is when the experience started to take a bit of a dive. We were in between lunch and dinner, so apparently, they didn't feel they were on stage and had to be helpful or professional. We both work in the service industry and know how important it is to be mindful that a guest gets a snapshot experience. You have one chance to show up professionally. It's not impossible... even on your worst day, to make a good impression. It took a while to get our drinks even though the bar was completely empty. You would think a drink at $18 would be exceptional, but they were just okay. Our server outside was amazing and did a great job, but the food was, honestly, mediocre at best. The pork shank had little to no seasoning/flavor. The beet & goat cheese salad had barely any goat cheese. We added pork belly the salad. When anyone thinks of pork belly, they think flavorful, tender, & maybe even a nice glaze to compliment. This pork belly was completely dry and hard. It's unfortunate because being between the rush, we really felt like the kitchen & bar simply didn't care... but we were still paying the price to be there. I'd love to return for the atmosphere alone, but I don't want to be let down for $200+.
