Very solid atmosphere with an amazing view of boats heading down the Chicago River. Great music playing, not too loud, and staff are friendly/good at their jobs. If you’re looking for a spot to hang and work for a few hours, this is a solid one.

First time i went i ordered an iced chai latte and an old fashioned donut. This may be one of the worst chai lattes I've had in my life, it's pure sugar and cinnamon - terrible just terrible. The donut was about as dry as sand and tasted like it was made last week. Decided to give this another shot today because hey why not. Got a blueberry muffin and unfortunately same situation, you can hardly taste any blueberries and it's about as dry as sand.
Apart from the abysmal bakery options and a horrifying chai latte, the space itself is beautiful.

I ordered the Café Miel (iced latte with honey). I really enjoyed the drink and the environment. Despite the space and seating, it is busy and can be hard to find a seat. But the view by the river is breathtaking. The drinks are relatively cheap compared to other cafes too!
When we got it, the cinnamon and honey mixture was stuck on the bottom, but honestly it didn’t negatively effect the taste

This place is amazing! It’s the perfect spot to study & eat, all with a beautiful view of the river. I’ve tried a couple drinks and the grilled cheese with tomato soup, and everything has been great. Definitely my new favorite place to hang out downtown.

Visited River Roux on a weekday at around noon. It was pretty crowded given the time of day. They didn’t have either of the drinks I wanted, which wasn’t really a huge deal for me. I got the Jamón and Brie sandwich which was good. It was your standard cafe. I think the only thing that really stood out was the view on the patio.

River Roux is such a beautiful spot! I had a matcha and really enjoyed it. The place is very aesthetic inside, with plenty of seating options some more comfortable than others and lots of cozy corners to work from. A big plus: some tables have adjustable height and there are outlets available, though you need a bit of luck to grab those seats.
The outdoor area is stunning, with tables overlooking the river perfect for a peaceful break. They offer a wide variety of drinks, lunch options, and sweets, including plant-based choices. My matcha was excellent, and overall it’s a really lovely place to relax or get work done. Definitely worth visiting! 🌿

River Roux is such a new cool spot! Great service and staffs were so nice. I wanted to try their foods but I couldn’t get a table, it was so packed when I visited and not many table at the terrace so better re-visit next time.

Fantastic spot to remote work. Lovely service and delicious food. Very attentive staff, lots of outlets and space to work. Has breakfast and lunch at reasonable prices. Will definitely be back!
Decide to try this new cafe out and check out their lattes. Beautiful location right on the riverfront, but unfortunately when I came in this morning they didnt have any dairy milk which I found unusual for a cafe. They said that they ran out so I wasnt able to order a latte or a chai. I ended up having a regular black tea

Overall this place was just okay. I wouldn’t go here for the food again but maybe for a coffee or glass of wine another time. We went on a Friday around noon. Everyone in my party didn’t like what they ordered. I thought mine came out a little burnt. It also took 30 minutes for them to fill up the water and we politely asked 3 times but they were very busy. Service was friendly and the place had a nice vibe but wasn’t great.
