I had dinner at Roanoke Restaurant and it felt like one of those classic downtown Chicago spots that balances business energy with a warm, upscale vibe. The space is stylish without trying too hard—dim lighting, polished wood, and a buzz of conversation that makes it feel alive but not overwhelming. I ordered a steak and it came out perfectly cooked, tender with a solid char that gave it real depth of flavor. The sides were thoughtful, not just filler, and the cocktails were smooth and well-balanced. Service felt professional but still personable, like they know their regulars but welcome newcomers just as easily. It’s the kind of place that works just as well for a client dinner as it does for a relaxed night out when you want something a little elevated without going over the top.

Stopped in today. The place is comfortable and cozy and the service was great. However, the food was meh. I have never had such a boring salad...truly felt like icebox devoid of flavor. Too much for a $21 Cobb.

The food was disappointing. We ordered a cheeseburger that was very plain and a salad that didn’t taste good. The waiter also had an attitude from the beginning, which affected the experience. We expected more based on the reviews.
