What can be more iconic Chicago than eating fabulous pizza outside on a hot summer night on the water( the quay). Known for its delicious dough, Robert's pizza truly ranks among the very best. Lovely atmosphere that requires advanced reservations to eat outside is truly special.

We love these sourdough pizzas. Adventurous toppings. Not all pizzas are tomato base but they will add tomato if you want it ... we did. Had the vegan pizza - very tasty and fresh flavoured. Also prosciutto and arugula. These pizzas are BIG! We always have some to take home. :-)

First visit and was delighted with experience. Ate inside due to blistering heat but the terraced patio dining was well shaded and quite lovely. Apps and pizzas are pricey but portions are large and so were a good value. There is plenty on menu besides pizza. Service was very good. Definitely will return.

Amazing experience! Love sitting outside and eating Robert's amazing pizza. Every time we have dined there, Robert has personally come to our table to chat! How often does the owner of a restaurant come to the table to talk to the customers? This is a very special place!

Wonderful service from our waitress and busser, with attention to resetting fresh plates and filling waters. I've been a server for 20 years, so I truly value high quality service. Pizza and meatballs were excellent. Thanks for a great dinner!

Would give a zero if possible. Apps and drinks came out quickly, but the entrées? Server made a note for added red sauce, pizza came out without sauce. Retrieval of the red sauce took far longer than it should and the second pizza took over an hour. Our table also asked for garlic powder. There were empty tables and the location was quieting down, we sat past closing hours along with other guests and spent a total of two hours there.

Will give credit where credit is due, they removed the pizza from the cheque which was generous. They did also bring the sauce and garlic powder a bit after the second pizza came out. However, don't waste your time on an hour long wait and even longer wait times for food. Enjoy your time elsewhere and then have enough time to get up and enjoy the city.

Either poorly managed or understaffed. Or both.

We had a meatball sub to go (there a little windows down the hall for ordering take out) that comes with choice of side salad or fries. I loved the side salad - fresh baby greens with tomatoes, sliced onions and cucumbers with side of oil and vinegar dressing - superb! We shared the meatball sub - which was good. It had three huge meatballs (good, not great) that were almost too huge for the bread. The bread was amazingly awesome, soft in middle and crispy on outside.
Picked up raspberry lemonade from the bar on the way out - made fresh with syrup - that was strong and refreshing on a warm day.

Their outdoor seating is beautiful! It’s right on the Ogden Slip so we watched a few boats come in and also watched people fishing. The plants are also super pretty and made for a delightful dinner. Service was okay, it felt like they wanted us to leave and were a little standoffish but it was fine. The pizza was really good though and the dough lives up to the name. We got the Fennel pizza as well as a slice of the Cup & Char and I personally liked the Fennel more. Overall a great vibe with great food!

Food was great. Rarely saw our server though. Wanted to have a few beers, but we were hardly checked up on.

Had discrimination happened at this location. Will not be back or recommend. The host told my party of 4 to be seated outside it’ll be 45 mins but the party behind us also a party of 4 got seated right away with no reservations outside. I spoke up after finding this out to the person seating us and somehow our 45 min wait for outside turned out to be no wait at all. As we were sitting the staff was looking whispering and wouldn’t serve us for another 10 mins so I had to speak up again because people came after us and got served right as they sat down. Racism in 2025 is beyond crazy.

I love this place!

My wife and I recently tried Robert's Pizza and Dough...and it was phenomenal! We ordered the Duck Prosciutto Pizza and it was delicious! Unbeknownst to us, our son was already very fond of this place. So is Phil Vetel of the Chicago Tribune. He declared it: "My Favorite Pizza Crust Hands Down!" Phil apparently hasn't tried as many pizza joints as I have, but the crust is definitely in my top 10.

Robert's has wonderful Happy Hour specials. Monday - Thursday: 3:30 - 5:30 you can get 1/4 of a pizza for $8! (Prices may change so don't hold me to that).

Robert's Pizza and Dough is located in the heart of Streeterville: just a short walk from Navy Pier, River North, the Loop, etc.

If you are anywhere near here I highly recommend you stop in!
