Yikes! Learn from my mistake—avoid this place! They hit me (and my insurance) with a whopping $1,300 bill for a simple steroid shot for a cyst. Seriously?! What a joke! They should be blushing with embarrassment!

August 23, 2023:

Rush DERMATOLOGY DOCTORS are out of network for United Healthcare. I cancelled.

May 23, 2023:. Scheduled an appointment for a full skin exam August 28, 2023. That is better than waiting 6 months at Northwestern Medicine, for Dr. Colavencenza.

The dermatologist have specialties and I had to call back to change my appointment with another doctor whose practice handles over 90% Impetigo - school sores, and Contact Dermatitis - Eczema.

My doctor arrived last year from University of Pennsylvania. She is the Director, and an Asst. Prof. I hope it works out: no information.

If it weren’t for my wonderful dermatologist i would never come back. scheduling alone is all smoke and mirrors. every time i call its 3 months + but magically my mom calls and gets an appointment BEFORE mine!! i’ve always struggled with scheduling here and its frustrating and they don’t even care. The admin side of dermatology sucks!! and u have to request no residents in ur appointment, i hate that. I understand they are learning but its a privacy issue as well, we all may not feel
comfortable with 2-3 others in our appts.

I was in the ER on monday, which was pointless except to reiterate to keep doing what i was doing. Ok I get it, fair enough. They claimed the referral would fast track me into a closer appointment date when I contacted dermatology. My fast track appointment is November 1st...

I called on a Friday morning with a referral from another provider. The receptionist answered && politely scheduled me for an appointment “tomorrow 7/9 at 3:30” I thought it was a little odd for a Saturday appointment that late in the day but I’ve had Saturday appointments so I didn’t follow up(my bad). I call Saturday morning to confirm the address && of course they are closed. I check my email(mind you I just scheduled this appointment the prior morning && so I had already checked my email before noon); there’s an email received Friday almost 2pm stating to be a reminder for my (7/8) same day appointment! Smh like who does that??? So all in all don’t know if I’ll even be seen because receptionist stated there was a $25 no show fee. Which I’m not paying because I was initially && verbally wrongly informed. Oh well. Northwestern or UIC I go.

&& I was in class that Friday so I would’ve never confirmed this lol.

Dr. Cavenaugh was excellent! Pain free removal of cyst. Very professional. Scheduling a bit tricky with the automated system. Overall highly rec this doctor.
