Rosebud Steakhouse - Chicago

This was our first time at Rosebud. We truly enjoyed our experience and we plan to come back again.

This place always is a winner for me. Took a vendor from out of the country and they just loved it.

Reliable neighborhood option. Reasonably priced glasses of wine and cocktails. Nice variety of non steak options.

I wasn't going to leave this review, but I had emailed the restaurant directly and they couldn't be bothered to respond, so I feel like sharing it here. At my meal at Rosebud, the service, the bread and the water were all fantastic. And the bordeaux blend wine I had was quite enjoyable. To start.. the shrimp cocktail appetizer, advertised with "atomic" horseradish was 3 medium sized shrimp for $27.00 with something amounting to tangy ketchup. I'd challenge the restaurant to go buy a bottle of Heinz cocktail sauce at the store and that's going to be more spicy. To call it "atomic" is quite the reach. And why just 3 shrimp? Cheap. I can buy 2 pounds of shrimp that size at the store for less at retail costs. My main course was what I feel like is the standard at any steakhouse, an 8 oz filet mignon, medium rare.. and I don't know how a chef of any caliber undercooks a medium rare that badly. It wasn't blue but it was close. They did offer to bring it up to temp but then they overcooked it. The char made it unenjoyable. Very disappointed. My side of macaroni & cheese was underwhelming because of the oversized shell noodles. The cheese was great and obviously made it all stick together, but the al dente pasta (since it was oversized), getting two or three shells per bite was a majority chewy pasta. I only ate about half of it. They sent a few spoonfuls of mac & cheese out with my re-fired filet which I felt was a little patronizing, because I didn't want more mac & cheese. I wanted my steak to be cooked correctly. No consolation was made. No manager came over or talked to me about it. No response from the email that I sent. Pretty disappointed in the $125.00 meal and I won't be back.

Brick chicken was completely overdone burnt and extremely dry. I have had this dish before and always is a solid dish and juicy. Totally missed the mark.

We had an excellent experience! We came here for a special occasion and it was a memorable experience. The customer service was top notch from the moment we arrived. Our server Eddie, was a class act and took good care of us. The food was wonderful- the lobster got incredible. Highly recommend.

Great and traditional steakhouse. Top service from our waiter, Abdullah. The in-bone filet was high quality and grilled to the point. Even for my wife, who is vegetarian, joining me in a steakhouse, Abdullah put together an appetizer and then spagetthi bolognese, which were served ,al-dente‘ like in a great restaurant in Italy. So, happy wife, happy carnivore🤣 We will be back when in Chicago again.

Fast and attentive service! Made our celebration dinner special. And the steaks are really good and aged well.

We celebrated our child's birthday here. The service and food were both excellent—a very pleasant experience. America is all about the meat, isn't it? A wonderful restaurant we'll definitely visit again.

Steaks were Overcooked and undercooked due to the kitchen, trying to keep up with the party of 30 that was there .

The food was incredible. Place was also great and the portions were really good. Service could improve a little bit but still very good. The aged steaks were amazing highly recommend them.

The most beautiful steak house with the most gorgeous menu. Staff were wonderfully attentive and kind. We were attending for a very special occasion and they made sure that we were looked after and were celebrating with us which I thought was wonderful. Service was incredible, food the best I've had, venue was beautiful, rustic and quiet. Will 100% return when we visit Chicago again. Love from the UK xx

First time dining here. Loved the decor and had a wonderful experience. Food was great and service was attentive and not overbearing. Would definitely recommend based on my experience.
