I love really good quality food, and this was one the best places in Chicago!!
We had shushi and ramen. The fish in shushi tasted like water (because of the freshness) and loved the broth of the ramen so much.

As appetizer we had shrimp tempura, were so light and amazing!!

Also there in house soya sauce, had so much depth. I was drinking the sauce, because it tasted so good. I wish they would tell the sauce!!

Best ramen I’ve ever had. And good price. Tan Tan ramen was creamy and flavourful, with a nice spice. I also had the miso ramen with pork broth and it was not too salty and extremely flavourful.

So very good. The chirashi has a great selection of sushi and the uni nigiri was so sweet, creamy and delicious. Our server was great too, he was so kind and respectful and very quick. Will be coming back again!

Stumbled upon this restaurant prior to going to a concert at the united center.

My family and I were pleasantly surprised at this quaint and cozy Japanese restaurant that offered some unique and very fresh food options.

The uni bowl was so incredibly fresh with the fish eggs a nice pop that wasn’t too salty. The veggie ramen was so rich and tasty - I don’t normally chose a veggie ramen, but it was great! The cocktails and drinks were also quite tasteful.

The service was excellent. Staff were kind and attentive.

I placed a order that arrived 30 minutes after the delivery window. Due to the restaurant having poor customer service and being nonchalant about the delivery person not arriving to pick up food and them placing the blame on Grubhub, I canceled my order. I'm not trusting food being delivered after the pickup time and no communication.

Not sure why they have a high rating.

came to try the ryota premium set after seeing it constantly on my tik tok. we also got two other rolls and some sashimi to try. we were pleasantly surprised by how fresh the fish was, especially the fatty tuna. the fish to rice ratio was also just perfect for our tastes. while we enjoyed the premium set, we did feel like the salmon roe was making everything taste a little too salty. overall, we’d come back just for the rolls

Really enjoyed this place. Ramen seemed priced fine for the amount you get, very flavorful. Nigiri was very fresh, buttery soft. It was more expensive but well worth it. Some of the specialty sushi dishes would be more doable with a group of people so can try a little of everything for a more reasonable price. Definitely would come again.

I went for dinner and the chicken karaage was amazing — perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The premium uni was also excellent, super fresh. The lychee martini was so refreshing, and my friend ordered a matcha martini, which was also really good.

I had such a wonderful experience at Ryota!
From the presentation to the flavors, was truly exceptional. The food was fresh, beautifully plated, and you can really feel the care and passion that goes into every dish.

The atmosphere was cozy and elegant, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even better!! Who doesn’t love good service with great food?

If you’re a fan of Japanese cuisine (or even if you’re trying it for the first time), this place is a must. I’ll definitely be coming back soon, it’s now one of my favorite spots in the city! 🍣✨

The sushi rice was so bad as if it has been soaked in vinegar for several days.

This is our safe choice for all the occasions. Great food, atmosphere, and definitely one of the best service and staff in Chicago. If you’re looking for good quality Japanese food, a super tasty ramen, and good drinks for a great value for money, you should definitely check this place. Note: it’s also kids friendly, my little boy always fall sleep with the low light and nice soundtrack.
