Our server Jesus was great! Knowledgeable and personable. Food was great. Huge portions and fast service. It’s BYOB! Bring your rum and get a Horchata! Parking on Erie doesn’t require permit.

We are, more than anything, just plain confused by the high ratings for this place. The prices are good, no doubt about that, but the food, at least what we ordered, couldn't have been more average and gringo-tuned. We ordered the chicken and veggie enchiladas, and a carnitas burrito. Not exciting menu choices, for sure, but nothing was special about these standards. Chicken and carnitas were flavorless (flavorless carnitas?!?! How is that even possible?). Enchiladas were soggy and had hardly any cheese. Sauces were just okay. Service was very pleasant, atmosphere was pretty much hole-in-the-wall. Cannot see what the fuss is about. Given all the great Mexican available in Chicago, we'll never come back. Firmly three-star. But won't break the bank.

Ingrid served us beyond todays standards, making us feel like we're at home; serving 3 other tables while also being incredibly kind and time efficient. Would give 6 stars if I could.

SO delicious!! The quiet intimate setting was the perfect spot to have dinner after a long day of work. Juan is a super star! I'm vegan and really appreciate his knowledge of the menu and was proactive with telling me the rice was made with chicken stock. Stomach ache avoided! The rest of the staff was also friendly and fun. We are looking forward to going back and try what else Sabroso has to offer.

This is my go to spot!! I usually get the carnitas tacos, or the pork tamales and they’re FANTASTIC. I still have yet to find something of theirs I don’t like. Sabroso’s is my absolute favorite and should be yours too!

As you walk in, the place doesn't look too impresive but... the chicken milanesa tortas was just delicious! Comes with all tge trimmings including avocado. You must try their chilaquiles, they are served with cubed potatoes and toast bread! W.o.w.! First time I have had them with bread in the US (very common in Mexico to have chilaquiles with white bread). Our server was very helpful and provided us with all types of hot sauces they have available. Prices well lower of what I expected.
