this is my second attempt at Saigon Pho but the result is not getting any better than last time.
I ordered 3 dishes from Doordash:
- Phnompenh noodle (0/5)
- Spicy beef noodle (3/5)
- Broken rice with pork cake, grilled pork and shredded pork skin (2/5)
Phnompenh noodle is a utter disaster. The broth is bland and tasteless. In addition, the packaging is not delivery safe. The soup container spilled out to the bag.
Spicy beef noodle is ok, albeit still lack of flavors but passable.
The grilled pork is dried and the pork cake is also dried.
I hope the restaurant can improve the quality of the dishes.

I ordered the beef pho (p.03) and it was one of the most flavorful and delicious pho I’ve ever had. The broth is rich in flavor and has a lot of meat. The beef short rib rice plate is so delicious too. Beef is flavorful and juicy.
The service is great and the establishment is exceptionally clean.

It is okay the food, the soup sweeter than expected.
The spring roll skin too hard to bite, not really fan of it, and the shrimp inside overcooked

My family recently had the pleasure of dining at Saigon Phở, a Vietnamese restaurant. What made our dinner extra special was the welcoming and warm atmosphere of the owners' Wendy and John. They even have personal recommendations from the menu. The menu features a wonderful variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes, bursting with fresh and vibrant flavors. What truly stood out, though, was the authenticity of the food. Each dish felt lovingly prepared and thoughtfully presented, making every bite a delightful journey through the diverse tastes of Vietnam. If you’re a fan of Vietnamese cuisine or simply looking to try something new, I highly recommend Saigon Phở. Whether you’re craving a comforting bowl of pho or a refreshing banh mi, this place delivers exceptional food with heart and soul. We can’t wait to return! Thanks again, Wendy, it was your kindness and warmth that really made the night unforgettable.

1 portion is a lot. I couldn't eat it so I had to take it home 😂 In Vietnam, beef eats less than lolot leaves and here meat is more than leaves so I'm not used to it kkk 😂 the vegetables are full and fresh, and the seasoning sauce is so-so. In Vietnam, braised beef is often eaten with salt, pepper, and lemon. If anyone needs it, please ask.
Open until 10pm so you can still have time to eat when you go out in Chicago, many places close at 9am too early 😃
The owner (or manager) was enthusiastic and always paid attention to the guests because I was sitting outside all the time, so I raised my hand and she saw it and when I left, she even reached out to thank me in a friendly manner. The employee ordered beef with lolot leaves but it sounded like grilled beef so I had to wait to change it.

I have only gotten delivery from this place so I cannot comment on the interior but my go- to orders (Bun bo hue and bun dau mam) have been delicious each time. I did get their pho dac biet once and appreciated the ox tail as this is not common! I do wish they used plastic containers instead of styrofoam as some of the saucier foods (rau muong xao, pork belly etc) can leak sauce in the bag. But this is a very minor thing. I appreciate that homestyle courses like canh chua and braised fish can be found here too.
Soup containers have always been packaged well each time. This is a solid choice for NW peeps craving viet food :^)
