Try the spicy lamb stirred fried with thin cilantro. It’s a personal favorite of mine. I asked for it to be mildly spicy and it was done perfectly tender and just a hint of spiciness. We also had eggplant fish fillet chow fun (thick noodles) and golden stirred fried tofu. All of these are excellent. Not too heavy in the sauce and you can taste the actual food that’s in it. The chow fun was slightly too soft— but still delicious. More firmness would be perfect. Over all 4.8 stars so I round it up to a five. 4 stars for the atmosphere as seating near the door is not recommended. We went on a cold day and waiting guests kept the door open and made our food cold. I had to tell them to close it myself. The host was too busy.

St Alp has been my Chicago stable since like 7 years ago! This place is reasonably priced with great portion and very nice staff and surprisingly I have found it hard to find a new york equivalent so this place has always been my first stop whenever I come back to Chicago! Will always been back!

My visit to Saint's Alp Teahouse was a tea lover's dream come true. The vast selection of teas, from classic to unique blends, was impressive. The cozy ambiance and friendly staff added to the experience. If you're looking for a delightful tea time, this teahouse is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Hidden spot in ChinatownTakes credit card.Eat the Cantonese dishes here!Staff speak Cantonese and EnglishCome for Lunch. The lunch special is good. Each dish comes with bowl of soup or tea.#48 Dry Beef Chow fun with Soy Sauce (gun chow ngao hwo) - pretty good flavor, the noddles are soft. Could have more char flavor. Seasonal Vegetables with Garlic sauce - very good simple dish to get your veggies in Taiwanese Crispy Pork- random place to eat this dish but tastes good.

A great restaurant for Cantonese and Taiwanese dishes. My favorite is their Kung Pao Shrimp which is the best in Chinatown. I come here just to order that one dish. Service has always been excellent. They also have a dining area on the second floor to handle overflow.

very tasty! Too small for bigger parties (e.g. 6+) but the stone bowls were flavourful with perfectly crisp rice, the fatty beef was an ideal cut, and the special appetizer of fried pumpkin with salted egg yolk was greatWouldn't get the takoyaki again but it's not exactly a restaurant geared towards Japanese fare

The deep fried pumpkin (on the street food menu) was a hit with everyone at the table. Salt and pepper pork chops are excellent, Taiwanese pork chops are very overcooked and not as good as they were years ago (they were hard and chewy today). The almond shrimp appetizer was very excellent. Our appetizer came after the entrées and we were all served at different times. My friends pork chop came almost 20 minutes after everything else was served at the table. We shared with her, or she would have been watching us eat the whole time. The teas are fantastic with or without tapioca. Service could have been better. It was hard getting the server's attention to get containers to take the food home ( and it wasn't very busy). All in all, it's a decent place with better food than most places in Chinatown. Oh, i forgot ... The Saint Alps fried rice is excellent, the fried sweet potato appetizer is excellent, and their Mongolian beef is great. Bathrooms could be cleaner.

Stumbled across this place on accident and so glad I did! I originally was trying to find a place with a dog friendly patio and I stopped here. I tried the seafood udon and the veggie udon. Both were your standard udon noodles and very tasty. I recommend for something quick and tasty to eat. Prices were also very reasonable!
