Overall very great first experience! The private rooms for karaoke were clean with updated system that was very easy to search songs. The rooms were spacious and not cramped! One thing I would recommend is to provide tambourines. I was shocked because most places provide tambourines.
I'm not a big fan of salt, but the chicken wings and fries were quite salty. I would have enjoyed the wings more if they were a bit less salty. The waitress even asked if I wanted them fried hard, which was amusing! Aside from that, my group and I had a great time.
My friend and I came just for Karaoke and it was SO fun! We will def be back and recommending to friends:)
It's been a couple years since my last visit to Sakura, and wow have they upped their game! The new karaoke systems in the private room are a huge improvement from the old ones. Our server was truly excellent and everyone on my party text me the next day telling me how much fun they had and gushed about how great the venue was. I've been to two other private room karaoke bars in chicago and Sakura really blows away the competition. I can't say enough about how cool it is. Will be back again asap.
I never write reviews but I met Julia who worked Halloween and another weekend night that I came in once with a group of people and on Halloween I came alone. She's fantastic. I came back again to see her and I was told she got let go. She was the only reason I ended up frequenting Sakura. The staff now was rude and not helpful so I went elsewhere.
The room was very hot we kept asking for a fan or AC. It wasn't until almost the end that we got a fan. The drink tabs were all wrong they kept trying to over charge extra drinks that were never ordered. Not sure if our server was intoxicated but they kept forgetting what we ordered and then added drinks to wrong tabs and extra drinks. The hostess tried giving me someone else's ID AND CC. They seemed very disorganized and confused about their job.
me and my friend had such a good time, workers there were actually so kind and helpful. we will be coming back again don't play.
Don't order any alcohol. I purchased a whisky sour and was charged for the ice used in my drink. I proof of this on my receipt. Such a scam

Did not have any food items! Nice place. Was in V.I.P room they've updated since the last time I've been. The staff was very friendly and professional! 1 main thing is they DEFINITELY NEED MORE MUSIC OPTIONS!!!

I was a little disappointed by this place honestly. I threw my birthday party here and had VIP room number one which is the biggest one. I was never let know how much this would cost when I booked it. It ended up being so ridiculously expensive for things that occurred here. The music system doesn't have any song that you want, you can only choose from what they have. It wasn't loud enough to really fill the room which bothered me. I had one server who was attentive, but I felt like there should've been maybe one more person because we were constantly needing him to come back to order more things for a party full of 20+ people. Once he went away, we couldn't find him. At the end of the night, he ended up giving me the wrong ID and credit card back (they keep it in their possession), this is pretty dangerous and considering, if I was not as coherent, I would have no idea and would've left without my stuff. Lots of technical issues with the system, and I was confused how this was happening because it seemed like the staff didn't know what was going on or how to fix things. I just felt like for the price that I paid which was over $500, it would've been a seamless experience and I wouldn't have complaints. So over all — it was volume, song choice, and service that could've been better. Way better. Also when I showed up, no one really explained anything to me. They briefly tell you how the room works, but I was lost on how to work the system, how to work the mics , what to do.
I had a birthday gathering at Sakura and it was a disaster. We had drinks on our receipts that we did not order, the only food they served was fried food, and the system to select music is bootleg and low quality. The servers were a complete mess!
