Salerno is actually a good spot to hang w a friend and have a cheap dinner. The food is decent. It's NOT Marty Anthony's down the street but then again the price is way less then MAs. Overall it's a cool spot to watch a game and have a nice Italian dinner.

Big fan of the $6 pizza slice and can on sofa for a quick lunch. The slices are HUGE and there’s a great balance of dough and cheese and not too heavy on the sauce (my preference). They also have a great Vodka Sauce special with sausage crumble that I recommend to split with someone or have for leftovers!

I've been eating and ordering pizza from this place since I was a kid, grew up in West town such a great neighborhood, and Salernos is a staple of that neighborhood. Today was very disappointing, I orders a medium pizza and mushrooms, pizza was good as always but the MUSHROOMS were trash!! The quality and quantity were awful.... For $13 dollars I expect a lot more.

I have been coming to the restaurant for the past couple years and the food is great but my favorite is the server that always welcomes us and takes care of our table. She is great! JOCELYN IS AWESOME AND IS GREAT AT HER JOB!!!!

Because 10-15 years ago I used to go to Salerno's almost weekly in a past life, I wanted to give this two stars for "ol' time sake," but my wife insisted otherwise. I hadn't been to Salerno's since 2016 or 17, back when they had red checkered vinyl tablecloths and a split dining room that nonetheless seemed open. I rarely give demerits for service, but we twice started to follow the host before realizing she was actually headed elsewhere on more pressing errands before finally seating us at a decidedly un-level table. Later, at the end of our meal, we saw newly seated customers get bread and olive oil that we never received nor were offered. The food was as I remembered, kinda average family-ish Italian that still represents a reasonable value, but the atmosphere was terrible and lacked that old charm that can't be replicated with a few enlarged black-and-white photos. The space is now divided into a sports bar with high tops and a "dining room." Despite sitting in the dining room, four big TVs were visually blaring sports stuff while strangely annoying music blasted, seemingly always DJs gone wild mixes of three songs at once. They couldn't at least tone that down in the dining room?! I will spare you other details, but I also found the dining room rather chilly and that's not something I'd typically say. Salerno's was never great, but you somehow always found it charming. Now, after long wanting to return, it's unrecognizable, and I will never go back. My wife said, "It was just so bad, all around."

For takeout they are great! I love the food, never disappoints. However, the servers are absolutely the laziest I've encountered. Both times we've gone in there with large parties. They could've made a lot more money on us for drinks. But the servers don't feel the need to come check on you. You have to literally hunt them down. Our food was brought down separately. We were celebrating some thing and people were ready to leave and people were still getting their food, we spent a good 2 1/2 hours in here, because we were waiting for our meals. Servers obviously sitting at a table, rolling silverware, and chitchatting. I get that on your downtime, but the restaurant was pretty busy and when you have large parties, you should be more attentive to them, I worked in the food industry. I know we make money on drinks. especially when you're adding your tip onto the bill already. I don't know. I just think they need to have a serious conversation with their servers on what they job entails Customer Service. You can have a social life after work.

I was there for the first time on Jan. 30 and had an outstanding experience. The calamari was one of the best I've ever had. We also loved the pizza. Tonight couldn't have been more different. I was so excited to get that calamari again. It came out looking undercooked and anemic. The server said it looked that way because they just changed the oil or something like that. I don't really understand that. We sent it back. It came back overcooked and rubbery. This was the calamari that was utter perfection only two weeks ago. What happened? We decided against the pizza tonight because a stranger next to us ordered it and it came out with the wrong ingredients twice and he had a very long wait. We asked if we could order the tortellini carbonara and substitute linguini for the tortellini. Our server said yes. The pasta came out with no peas or mushrooms. Our server said that the "make your own" carbonara doesn't come with peas or mushrooms. I explained that all we wanted to do was substitute linguine for tortellini. She never offered to correct the problem. After the wonderful experience here a couple weeks ago, I thought I might become a regular. Now I doubt that I'll go back.

Drinking glasses were filthy, which they did replace. There was a long hair in my arancini, and they tasted like fried oil with no flavor. Bruschetta was great though.
