I was so impressed with Same Same! The food was awesome: flavorful, warming, and well presented. The miso hot buttered rum was a standout too, so unique and a big portion. We went on a Monday so it was easy to get a table as a walk in. I can't wait to go back.

The vibes in here are very modern Thai. Super loud and hard to hear, but cool vibes. Seems like they are short staffed during busy times with only one bar tender, one server, and cooks in the back. The dining area is small, and there was always a line at the door but it goes by quickly. Maybe a 10-15 min wait on weekends. The food was pretty good, just wish the service was better!

I want to love this place but I feel that I keep ordering the wrong thing. I tried their Sii Khrong Muu Yang the first time I went and found it incredibly bland. My partner got the Khao Soi Gai and it was delicious. Second time we went, I got the Phat Thai and my partner got the Panang Curry. The Phat Thai had flavor, just not one I particularly enjoyed :( but the Panang Curry was really delicious.. it seems like this place strives in their curries but falls flat with other dishes unfortunately.
Same Same is one of those rare neighborhood gems that manages to feel both homey and transportive. Nestled in Roscoe Village, it delivers the kind of Thai food that reminds you why comfort and craftsmanship don't have to compete.
Same Same doesn't shout for your attention, it earns it through flavor and feeling. Their house made curries are the clear standout, silky, aromatic and layered with spices that reveal themselves slowly, like a story being told one chapter at a time. Every bite feels thoughtful and intentional, balancing heat, sweetness, and depth in a way that feels authentically Thai but unmistakably their own.
The back patio deserves its own applause. It's a quiet, candlelit escape that turns an ordinary meal into something almost cinematic. Perfect for date nights, long talks or solo dinners where you just want good food and your own thoughts. A definite gem!

The service was great but the Tom Yum was by far the worst i’ve ever had. Shrimp was not appetizing (or fresh) and the lemongrass flavor was completely absent, not the best

We ordered five dishes, and only one was even decent. 😑 The shrimps tasted like dead seafood — definitely not fresh. When we asked for a change, the server was extremely rude and flat-out told us nothing could be changed. To top it off, they even canceled our Resy reservation so we couldn’t leave a rating there. What a complete clown move👎

I ordered several items from Same Same because I’m an avid Thai food fan; pad thai, green curry, panang curry, papaya salad, fried rice, wontons, and more. It was about $150 in Thai food for delivery and boy do I regret it.
Both curries felt like they were missing Palm sugar in them, they were flat and honestly inedible. The fried rice was doused in soy sauce last minute. The portions were extremely, extremely tiny for 18+/dish, and none tasted good. Overall, I do not recommend ordering from this place. This was by far the worst Thai food I’ve ever eaten.

Hours say they close at 10p. Walked in at 9:20p and told me the kitchen was closed.
The My Thai Slushy and Phat Kaphrao were amazing! Al fresco dining in the front and back.

So delicious! The food and vibes are wonderful. The only down side - they seem short staffed during dinner hours. They don't pick up the phone for to gos. And they are no longer open for lunch. I feel like whenever I want their food - they're closed. Wish we could have more!
