Food was really good. We forgot our water at the counter and about halfway down the beach towards North Ave one of the staff came sprinting down and stopped us with the water we forgot. Very friendly and totally went out of their way. Will never forget that. 5/5

This is a hidden gem along big ol’ Lake Michigan just south of Fullerton. Owner Shari has designed a lovely patio set up and has the best homemade guacamole an tamale’s made this side of Pilsen. Open from 11 to 5 everyday, weather permitting, through Sept 17. I make it a stop on lakefront bike rides. And it’s a lovely place to meet a friend for an afternoon of people watching. I almost don’t want to tell you about The Sandbox as it’s been my little secret.

This tiny cafe is an absolute jewel. Tacos here are super - really, they are superb. Oh yeah, the taco salad is even better. So, make sure you stop by when biking or jogging on the north Lakefront Trail, 1/2 mile south of Fullerton. A great place to enjoy one of the finest views as well.
