We were staying next door and trying to find a lunch spot. We chose Sando Street, and were very happy we did. First time trying a sando. We got the Bulgogi and Tonkatsu Sandos. They were excellent! They tasted very fresh, great combinations of flavors and textures. Tip: eat the sando from the wrapper as long as you can, otherwise bits of sando fall out. (That’s what a fork is for!). Staff was very nice and helpful. Atmosphere was decent - it is a small place with a couple of booths, a few tables, and a counter. While we were there, we saw quite a few carry-outs go out the door. Highly recommended.

Staff was great but if you’ve ever traveled to Japan and ate an egg sando, this does not compare. While still tasty, this was a huge disappointment.

I thought the tonkotsu was going to win in a landslide as my favorite sandwich here, but the bulgogi takes the cake! The egg sando and strawberry were also completely perfect. A must-stop for all future trips to Chicago!

Small menu of delicious sandwiches. Tried the bulgogi and KFC one and will be back to have again. Super flavorful and the bread was really good. Would recommend to all.

I’m writing this review as I finish my Tonkatsu sando… it’s so so good. The person who took my order was so nice, the seating area is clean and comfortable, great energy in here!!!

Unfortunately, the food was incredibly disappointing. Their tonkatsu sauce is just straight out the package, not homemade. The pork cutlet that I received was incredibly fatty and tough. There was also a very strong smell in the bathroom (whose hallways was encased by boxes) that was unpleasant. Customer service was fine but I won't be returning.

Always consistently good
Stopped by Sando Street for lunch and overall it was solid. I had the spicy pork sando and my friend got the fried chicken sandwich—both tasty and packed with flavor. The staff was friendly, but the wait was a little longer than expected and the place is on the smaller side, so it gets crowded fast. Would come back, just maybe not at peak lunch.

Pretty disappointing. Tamago sandwich was really bland, honestly couldn’t even finish it. Ube creme was great. But the bread for both was very dry. Maybe the other sandwiches would’ve been better. Hoping this was just an off day

Tonkatsu sando was solid, and really enjoyed the gyoza and popcorn chicken. The yuzu mango strawberry fruit sando was absolutely phenomenal, a must get for sure.

Oh my gosh, you have to try Tonkotsu sando! The meat is just mind-blowing. And the owner is such a friendly guy. It’s hands down the best sandwich you’ll ever find in Chicago. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

Wanted to come here for a long time. We loved egg and KFC sandwiches: eggs are wonderfully whipped and sauce of KFC is a chefs kiss. We also love everything with Ube, so we give 10/10 for Ube strawberry sandwich. The bread is delicious. Space is small but well designed to include as many people without feeling crowded. Service is nice and food came out quick
