Amazing experience at Serena! The BBQ items were outstanding loved the lamb chops, chicken boti, and flavorful seekh kebab. Great service, clean restaurant, and a warm atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Dropped into Serena Restaurant for dinner on a Saturday—ordered the Beef Seekh Kabob, Chicken Biryani, plus a mango lassi to round it out. Kabobs were juicy with that perfect char, biryani had fragrance and spice—really hit the spot. Cozy Devon Ave desi vibe, staff super friendly, service was smooth. Can’t wait to come back for the weekend buffet!

Really good food 4 out of 5 times. Not a great atmosphere, often too quiet. The service is good.

Delicious Indian food with bold, authentic flavors. The chicken and beef dishes were perfectly seasoned—rich, aromatic, and cooked to perfection. The service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance made for a relaxed, enjoyable dining experience. Definitely a spot I’ll return to next time I’m craving Indian cuisine in Chicago. We had so much food to take home!!

I always loved their mutton pulao but lately, the quality has gone downhill fast. Ordered mutton pulao and karahi gosht multiple times but both were a huge disappointment. It’s clear they’ve compromised on taste and preparation. Very disappointed. Definitely not coming back until they seriously improve their food quality.

Stopped for a quick lunch with my wife and my baby, they gave us a baby seat immediately. Which was nice and my baby made a mess for which I felt bad.

Now for the food, it's typical Pakistani style food. Don't expect Indian flavors at a Pakistani restaurant as I have noticed that a few of you guys have been reviewing this place and comparing the flavors. For me, I thought that the service itself was a 5 star service from the two gentlemen that helped our table. One was from Gujrat and the other was from hyderabad. We ordered the plater 1 and mixed and matched a few items. Garlic Naan was really good and then the mutton pulav was amazing as well as the mutton karahi.

Now they did give us one item wrong but we ate it anyway so they not only brought us the correct item but also gave us a complimentary dessert which we were so happy to see that they didn't had to but they did it anyway. Pakistani hospitality is as always the best.

Loved our food and service and would definitely go here again for the quiet family friendly ambience and their dessert was so good that I wanted to pay for it.

Pricing is very reasonable compared to other restaurants in Chicago area.

Thank you for such a pleasant experience.

If I could give Serena Restaurant zero stars I absolutely would. My family has ordered their mutton biryani multiple times and each time it’s gotten worse. These cheap folks are clearly cutting corners, barely any meat in the biryani, just rice and bones. For the price they’re charging, you’d expect a decent amount of mutton, but instead you’re left digging through a mountain of rice hoping to find more than just a few sad scraps.

It’s honestly insulting. This isn’t a one-time issue, this has happened multiple times so it’s clearly how they operate now. What used to be a decent meal is now just a greedy low-effort cash grab. Save your money and go somewhere that respects its customers and serves what it advertises.

Would not recommend to anyone.

I ordered an extra-spicy mutton biryani, and the exceptional taste ranks it among the best in Chicago.

Went for a Saturday buffet. By and large, delicious Pakistani cuisine. Some dishes were very oily, others were crusty as though reprocessed. Lassi and tea were part of the buffet. 4 to 6 vegetarian options. Service was good as was the ambiance.

Sunday brunch was so good - fresh puri & naan was brought to the table consistently, the buffet was clean & each dish was fresh & tasty without being too oily as sometimes restaurants would make it. For example, mutton pulao tasted homemade. The paya, nihari, pulao, biryani, aloo puri, & grilled chicken were our faves and such a great value for the $22 buffet. This also included doodh Patti chai, lassi, & mango lassi.

Service was great, they were attentive & brought anything we needed quickly but there was no hovering/suffocating. We were a group of 4 so they added service fee ie tip was included, and they only added 15% instead of the 20% that most places do.

Would definitely go again!

We had an exceptionally great experience. The Buffet service was very good, the staff was very actively refilling all the dishes. The Nihari and Tandoori naan was really great, amazingly delicious taste. The Paalik and Daal was great, Qorma was excellent.
