A dollar a minute for bowling?

DIAMOND J.

Aesthetically speaking, this place is very cute, intimate, and clean overall. However, I would not recommend this place. The bowling lanes felt very faulty; a lot of the balls getting stuck in the gutter and pins being moved over by strings when they should be falling down. The balls are also not good quality. Some have cracks where you place your fingers causing your hand to get more stuck than usual.

The drinks were a solid 3 out of 10. My family and I ordered most of the specialty drinks considering we were a large party. However, all except one of the drinks were watered down. The service was ok. No one was necessarily rude, but the men at the counter are acting like nonchalant bouncers at a club opposed to a bowling alley (very dismissive when asked about anything aside from purchasing food or a drink).

This place was great. I can only speak on the bowling and food but we had a blast. Great music played. A good atmosphere was kept. Wings were delicious. The staff was so nice and understanding when we were running late.

Seven Ten Social – A UChicago Event Favorite!

We recently hosted a University of Chicago event at Seven Ten Social, and it was a hit! The staff were incredibly friendly, hardworking, and supportive—they truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly.

The management made the planning process hassle-free, and the pricing was very reasonable. It’s an easy and rewarding way to support a great local business for university events.

Knocking things down and hearing the crash was the perfect stress relief during a hectic quarter.

If you’re planning a campus event, I highly recommend Seven Ten Social. The team is top-notch, and the space brings energy, ease, and excitement to any gathering!

Sticky floors (it feels like a moonwalk), clunky old unuseable shoes, overpriced & watered-down drinks, as well as a high price-tag just for recreational bowling. We're on a roll here, add to that - Seven Ten Social have strings on their pins, malfunctioned lanes AND dry ones: I am not surprised as this is a puppet show, how amusingly befitting! How can anyone bowl in this environment? They literally got everything wrong. Everything is executed in a way that is antithetical to what a bowling alley should be, and how it should be. Not a single redeeming factor..this is not a 1/5 but a solid 0/5.

Was planning on visiting but I will not anymore since the vintage Brunswick equipment was replaced with stringpins. Strings are not bowling. Way to ruin a nice place. I won’t ever come.

First off the drink i ordered from the bartender last night was perfect. Some type of glazed chicken tenders were awesome. The 3 star is because I specifically searched billiards/pool tables in Hyde Park and the photos showed tables on google so I pulled up to play because its been such a long time since i played. Sadly, there were no tables and the place was remodeled and the pool tables were gone

Bartender was nice and professional. We were served our drinks. As soon as we were considering ordering food, we found this cockroach at the bar and changed our minds. I, personally felt sick to my stomach. The pricings for bowling was too high on certain days and weekends. When finished bowling, we were under the impression that somebody would take and clean the bowling shoes at the end of the bowling session. Turns out attendees are expected to put them in a bucket and spray the shoes down with disinfected spray. I, personally, won’t consider coming back.

This was a very disappointing time for Class of 1974 trying to enjoy our meet and greet. Friday July 26, 2024. Our committee had paid and sign a contact to rent this venue out from 6:30 - 8:30 for us. Upon arrival 5:30 - 6:30 notice another group in the area. The manager Antonio assured us they would be rapping up by 6:30. Well 6:30 came they began giving out awards or what ever and taking pictures. They moved out the area where the bowling lanes where but not the area where the tables and shoes where. Also, the took several group pics (at least 30 people) in front of the bowling shoes so we couldn’t even get our shoes. After pictures they continued in that area we rented socialize and talking very loud. We all came to the conclusion that this was a deliberate act of disrespect. We can even say honestly it was a case of racial profiling. Yes the bowling team were white individuals and we were older senior citizens black individuals. We believed the manager was afraid to enforce to them they had to leave the area because it has been rent to another party. So needless to say we were very disappointed and will never plan any social gathering here again. We also took to social media about this incident.

Customer service is key when it comes to entertainment locations. In Chicago visiting family and we decided to go bowling. We did not feel welcomed we were the only ones there and we felt like the staff would have preferred the place to be empty. We will never go back.
