Shawn Michelle's Homemade Ice Cream Bronzeville

Me and my granddaughter visit Shawn Michelle's often. The desserts are delicious and the homemade ice cream is the real deal ! We love it ! ! !

Love Shawn Michelle. So much that I had dinner Thursday night and my out of town guests were going to be treated to our favorite butter pecan ice cream. We hurried to get to the store before closing, which was listed on website as 9pm. At 833pm when we arrived, doors were locked and cleaning was well under way. We were so disappointed. I was a retail manager for 20 years and never let my associates close the store before the posted closing hours. Please address. We will return. But this should be a training opportunity for staff.

They have very rich & creamy ice cream with a decent amount of flavors. Also like that they give you sample to help u decide

Got blue moon cocorum, scoops were way bigger than this pic and a GREAT buy for $5. Banana pudding flavor is god tier. Small business, homemade, this is a 100/10 do not hesitate run don’t walk!!!

Cocorum is legit boozy, sharp and the coconut is fire, tastes like malibu

Very disappointed with the visit. I have heard such great things about this ice cream shop. I visited 3 different days a Friday, Saturday and Tuesday. Each time wanting to try the banana pudding and each time being told something different. Friday they had just ran out. Saturday they didn’t have any. Tuesday none until Friday. I hope this business does well but I will just be visiting anymore.

Shawn Michelle’s was amazing. We tried the Strawberry Lemon Graham Cracker ice cream, and it was absolutely delicious. The creamy, rich base had a bright lemon flavor that paired perfectly with the sweet strawberry swirl, and the bits of graham cracker added just the right amount of texture and crunch. Every spoonful was smooth, refreshing, and full of flavor.

It’s the kind of ice cream that makes you slow down and savor every bite. Highly recommend stopping by if you want a dessert that tastes homemade and unforgettable.

The hospitality here is impeccable, very friendly servers. Since we were visiting the first time, they gave us some flavours to taste and they have some very original and unique flavour combinations. Heavenly frozen deliciousness is how I would like to describe it. We tried their famous peach cobbler with bourbon butter ice cream, butter cookie ice cream and Jamaican rum & raisin. Must try if you are in and around town.

In short: Friendly staff, unique flavors, “3 sample limit”, large portions, cutesy decor, homemade vanilla is really good, banana pudding is SPOT ON…and we love a Black Owned Business!!!!!!

In long: Staff asked if it was our first time in; one person said there was a 3 sample limit, the other said we could try as many as we wanted lol.

I’m an ice cream buff and was excited to try a bunch of the flavors. Banana Pudding was by far the most impressive. I am not a fan of the dessert, but have to give credit where it’s deserved. If you enjoy traditional banana pudding with Nilla wafers, the ice cream will likely yield a single silent tear of gratitude and deep appreciation for the well-matched flavor. 🥲

They said Vanilla is the most popular flavor and I found that to be a red flag which realized itself after trying a series of flavors. The Vanilla and Banana Pudding just about kicked the other flavors off the menu in my opinion 😂 I mean the other flavors just weren’t hitting at all for me.

All in all, we happily spent our dollars at a place with rich history, great community, and appreciation for the best dessert ever (ice cream!!)
