Wonderful Brunch place. Wonderful people. Waiting for them to re-open after remodelling

Shilas Restaurant is the best kept secret of the northwest side. Everything Manny touches is phenomenally delicious. In fact, I can’t order a skillet anywhere else in the world because they just can’t compare. The diner coffee keeps my nostalgia in check and the vegetarian skillet with a side of sausage is my go to: spinach, mushrooms, feta, and avocado. It’s perfect every single time.

This place is spectacular! I've been coming here for a while now, and not once have I entered this place without a warm welcome. The staff always ask if I've genuinely enjoyed the food, and I always say I do because I genuinely do! I I used to only get the two eggs with bacon, hash browns, and toast every time I went. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but I wanted to explore and try new dishes, and I did. Let me say, I always enjoy every new dish. The French toast, amazing. Sandwiches, such as the Cali sandwich (I believe that's its name), amazing! Chicken tenders, marvelous. For sure, I will continue on trying their different dishes in the future. As for the atmosphere, it's beautiful. Their chandeliers add a calming ambiance to the place. I believe they'll close for a while to remodel the place, but if they do, I can't wait to return and see what awaits. Whenever I go, there's always a few people there, but it's not a bad thing because having a quiet breakfast/brunch experience is always nice. This also means having more seating options, since you can choose to either sit at a table or booth, so it's a full win. What I find funny about this place is their music. Most restaurants have certain playlists that they play during open hours, and their usually songs that pertain to their style, but not here. At Shilas, they play some recent pop songs (I'm not sure what to call music these days), but they mostly play old 2000s songs. Such as Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, and other singers that you all probably remember. For me, this does not bother me at all! Listening to these old songs bring back fun old memories of mine, and what makes that experience better is enjoying some good food! It also doesn't hurt to bop your head along with a few songs while enjoying a good old cup of coffee or a short stack of pancakes. I guess that's pretty much all I have to say. I have never had a bad experience here. so I will for sure continue dining at this place until I've eaten every menu item. Just kidding, I'll never get tired of their food, so I'll continue eating here even after trying nearly everything. Okay okay, I'm pretty sure that's all. Oh gosh, I just noticed how much I've wrote! I guess I had so much to say. Dang, now I'm hungry for their fries (they also got a variety of different fries, which is a win in my book). OKAY, I'm done. Adios :3 .

The food was delicious and the service was fast, friendly, and professional. The restaurant was clean, and the music was at the perfect volume. We've lived in the area for 2.5 years, and I wish I'd found this breakfast spot earlier. We will definitively come back soon.

Stranded at the dealership awaiting word on my car, my son and I were suddenly starving. He did an area search and happened upon Shilas Restaurant. It was about a mile walk, but definitely worth it. We We're the only two patrons there at the time. Our server was greeted us with a smile and we picked a sunny window table. The decor is reminiscent of the 70s, which I loved! They have an interesting pitcher collection above the wall by the counter seating area. Each pitcher is tucked in its own little alcove. Enough with the ambiance...the food was great! I had the grilled chicken with rice and beans. The chicken was moist and nicely flavored. The rice was actually Arroz Blanco. It was wonderful and took me back to my childhood! Last time I had rice that way was when I was a kid growing up on the South Side at my friend Gloria's house. The beans were wonderful as well. My son had the Denver Omlette, which he enjoyed. I finished everything except for the beans. The proprietor came by and asked me if I didn't like the frijoles. I told him I loved everything, but I could t eat another bite. I followed up with the food was muy excellente! If you are looking ambience, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for great food at a very reasonable price, this is a place you should check out! And the bathrooms are clean too!

My wife and I like to come here often because of the great prices and and good services. The amount of food you get for the price is unbeatable. My only complaint is that the decor needs some help. Fresh paint and new ceiling tiles would do wonders.

This place has the best breakfast and service at a really low price! Don't let the dated decor keep you from coming in. It's worth the visit if you are looking for quality food.

First time here, usually like to give restaurants a chance and try them out. I saw that they had 4 stars but definitely my experience was a two start. The server was very friendly but didn't make up for the food. I ordered the breakfast burger medium with my egg sunny side up, my burger was well done and the egg was over cooked. My friend ordered the chicken sandwhich and the chicken was very chewy. While we were there, they received a phone call about a customer complaining about their food not being right .. sorry but I will not be back.

Went in around 1:45 today, Thursday, and it was very clean. What made the biggest impression on me was the server. He was very kind and attentive and even ran outside after I left my S Pen inside to make sure I didn't forget it. Very nice establishment. Food was good. Kind of dinner style, breakfast. I had veggies omelette with grits and pancakes. It was all delish!
