Shokolad Pastry & Cafe offers excellent food, with delicious vegetarian options like the summer omelet and Athena omelet. The eggplant, pea, and potato varenyky are very good. Desserts are scrumptious, so make sure to save room. The mushroom panini and cabbage and carrot salad come highly recommended. Ukrainian specialties like borscht and varenyky are authentic and tasty. This is possibly the customer's favorite restaurant, and an absolute must-stop whenever they're in the Chicago area. The varenyky or "Ukrainian pierogi" are amazing, especially the standard potato or potato and cheese flavors. The pelmeni is also excellent. The cafe is known for its cozy atmosphere and great service, making it the place to go for authentic Ukrainian food in Chicago. Customers have also raved about the delicious raspberry crepes.
