Best shrimp in Chicago! Owners and employees are super nice too! We have been eating here for years and are never disappointed.
I celebrated my PhD yesterday in this delicious restaurant. happy to tell that it was a awesome evening and the venue was absolutely the reason for this fruitful evening. The team cooperated in a graceful manner, the meals were extremely good and my guests were extremely cheerful. We shall surely return for more celebrations. Thank you very much.
This spot is awesome! Affordable prices, large dishes and the employees are constantly super friendly.
I used to live near the Chicago location on Archer Ave.. I have been going to one of their locations for over 20 years. No one, and I mean,'no one' can match their shrimp. I now live in Oak Brook, IL., I now drive all of the way to Burbank. I would not, nor would I ever go any place else for shrimp. I highly recommend that you at lease try it. You owe it to yourself and your family.
My wife and I have vacationed in Sarasota, Florida, for more than 40 years. So I know what fresh seafood tastes like, especially shrimp from the Gulf of Mexico. So when I learned that Frank's Chicago Shrimp House serves ONLY Gulf shrimp, I knew I had a friend in Chicago. As Frank points out, he serves only Gulf shrimp because it has a higher quality taste than farm raised shrimp. Believe me, you can tell the difference. As a longtime shrimp lover--shrimp cocktail, grilled shrimp, shrimp scampi, fried shrimp--I know a Gulf shrimp when I taste it. Since 1982, Frank's has been serving fried shrimp, cocktail shrimp, sea scallops, catfish strips, fish and chips, ocean perch, frog legs and chicken strips at 5052 West Irving Park Road, between Laramie and Cicero, and at three other locations in the Chicago area. We always purchase a pound of fried shrimp with fries and cole slaw. Sometimes we add a fish and chips dinner (my wife's favorite) and a pound of ocean perch. Other locations are at 6539 West 79th Street in southwest suburban Burbank, between Neenah and Nashville, 4459 South Archer Avenue and 3071 North Barrington Road in northwest suburban Hoffman Estates, south of I-90 at the Barrington Road exit.
This place is always hopping. They have a good selection of fried seafood. Their breading is good. The sides are okay. It’s one of those places you say, we haven’t been to Franks in awhile and you have to go.
Very, very, bad deep fried shrimp. Tastes like the oil hasnt been changed in decades, everything that you order tastes like shrimp. Really not sure how this place is still around.
