I didn’t have much of an opinion of Side Practice after my first visit. And then I went back again. And again. And again. Every time since that first visit has been consistently great. Even at their busiest service is really great and efficient. Big fan of the pandan vanilla latte and the ube latte. I also had a donut (wanna say from Gurnee Donuts?) that was great as well. They also do a great job at fostering community. I think between them and Kanin there is just a lot of love and investment in community on this block.

I got an ube matcha, which had such a perfect ratio of both flavors- earthy and a slight sweetness. There were a good amount of places to sit, there was cool art and fun trinkets all over, and the baristas were really nice and welcoming!

Delicious drinks! We got the dash special (hot pandan vanilla latte w macadamia milk) and an ube latte and both were lovely. Cute decor and things for sale, will be returning to try pastries.

I came here because it’s Labor Day and Casa Cactus is closed 😅 I’m glad I did though. I got the Taron Latte per the barista’s rec and it was so good. I’ll definitely be making the trek out here from the northwest side more often.

This is my favorite coffee shop. They have a great, rotating selection of coffee beans for home use, have really good drip, and make great espresso drinks as well. I feel lucky to live within walking distance.
Five stars solely for the Turon Latte - it was delicious. With the banana milk, it was amazing. I’d go back just for that.

Stepping into Side Practice Coffee instantly feels like entering a gentle sanctuary from the bustle outside. Natural light softens the clean design, and subtle industrial touches bring quiet energy. It’s the kind of place where you can take a moment to catch your breath or settle in for a long, slow coffee.
The oat milk latte I tried was silky and subtly nutty, perfectly balancing the rich espresso. I paired it with a banana bread slice that was moist and just sweet enough. The staff was attentive and unhurried, offering each cup with a sense of care. Side Practice delivers direction with grace no fanfare required.
