Pasteur is totally underrated. Excellent food. The owner is SO COOL! Everyone in the Edgewater, Andersonville, Uptown, Lakeview area should work Pasteur into their regular restaurant rotation!
The food was excellent. There was a very large group in the restaurant when we were there and they seemed to struggle a bit with service. That said, the food was excellent and we will definitely try it again

An excellent restaurant serving French-Vietnamese cuisine. Many great choices on the menu - my family has dined here many times, we have tried different dishes, and everything has been delicious. The interior is spacious, has very good decorations, and low noise - we can always easily talk at dinner. Nice lion sculptures adorn the entrance. Good music.
We came in as a family was coming out , and the family had said they were waiting there an hour with no water and to leave no le if you could. an hour later , we had the same story ! We weren't acknowledged for at least 30 minutes, and then told to sit because we should get a table in the next 10, and another 30 minutes later with 3 different tables clear we were not seated or acknowledged. We had a reservation too, terrible service

Went there Valentine's day. Of course we expected it to be busy and it was pretty full. However I think someone didn't show up at work because the staff that was there really had to hustle around but they did a great job putting great food on the table. Even though service was slow. But it wasn't their fault and I still rank them highly. Don't fail to get the Vietnamese pancake it is absolutely the best.
Terrible experience. Short staffed and over booked. We sat for 55 minutes, and didn't even get water. We got up and left. Waitstaff had no idea when we would get our order and clearly were very over worked and flustered.

We used to love this restaurant, but on our recent visit we did not get our appetizers until an hour and a half after we arrived, I waited at least 20 minutes for a lime for my drink, which I didn't get until an hour after we arrived. We had to rush through our entrees in order to get out the door over 2 hours later. I watched as one couple didn't even get water or menus for the first hour they were there. As much as we love the food, given the prices and lack of capacity to run the place, I can't imagine going back.
Simply Pastuer is lovely all year round. The food is very good. The owner is kind, friendly & makes you feel like your eating in her own home. In nice weather there is a large outdoor patio. Inside, it has always been one of my favorite rooms. Noise level is low which is hard to find these days. For me, that's the best!!
The food was absolutely disgusting and tasteless. The yellow curry chicken came out and there was absolutely no curry in the dish and the chicken was dry as a bone. When I pointed this out to the server, she said “oh there was curry when I put it on the plate, but I don't know what happened”. The fried rice had zero flavor. We honestly felt after our meal that we could've gotten a better meal from Trader Joe's. we had returned the chicken curry dish because it was so absolutely disgusting, but they still charged us for it. One of the most disappointing dining experience I've ever had. I used to frequent this place in the 2010s and it used to be one of my favorite places to dine. I will no longer be coming here.

Restaurant seems overwhelmed and short staffed in front to house. Seems they hosted an event the night before and several scheduled staff called n "sick" the next day. Over 1 hour to get coconut shrimp apps and then needed to reorder entrees. Once food arrived it was delicious. Server comped out 2 glasses of wine as an apology.
The food was excellent, as it always is. However, the service and food delivery were so poor that I doubt I will ever return. We had been seated for over 1 hour and twenty minutes and still did not have our appetizers!! It was a ridiculous experience. We kept asking our server who continued to ask the kitchen where our food was. The answer was “not ready yet”.

We have enjoyed this restaurant since eating there on our anniversary 30-odd years ago. Since then, it's become a favorite destination for special occasions. Last week on Father's Day was the first time we ate on the patio and loved the ambiance. The food was excellent. My daughter commented that it felt like being on vacation.

I'm sorry to report this restaurant did not live up to our memory of it. I ordered a ginger chicken that was without flavor. It's still a nice interior, but the wait staff were slow--although this may be a common problem with a shortage of service workers.

Great traditional French inspired Vietnamese food. Lovely restaurant, interesting menu, and friendly staff. Service was very slow. Took 30 minutes to place our first order for drinks. The wait staff was running around , busing tables, trying their best to take care of everyone, but it was clear they were very short staffed.

The food was excellent and the services as equal. I have not been at Pasteur for several years and it continues to be great despite changes with the menu. I am planning to return with some friends. I highly recommend all the appetizers and the fried red snapper.
