I’m a senior who meets seven or eight other ladies for coffee every Friday morning At the 53rd St. coffee shop. We started coming to your shop a few weeks ago and I have to tell you the customer service that those girls have on Friday mornings that are there from about 10:30 to 12:30 are unbelievable. But they’re sweet, they have great manners, their customer service skills are impeccable, and most of all they’re so nice to us. I just wanted to thank you because it’s such a pleasure coming to your store my daughter and her partner *Now coming in for coffee because I told him how good it was. Thank you it’s nice to have a place to go for a bunch of seniors just to chitchat on a Friday morning, we appreciate you, thank you so much for your staff and what they do.Regards,Helen PerrymanKid-friendliness: There’s no children involved.Wheelchair accessibility: One of the ladies for coffee in the morning is in a wheelchair, but she comes once every four or five months.
Bad coffee. Came in afternoon, ordered the house brew. Lukewarm at best. it must have been leftover from the morning.

New to the area and decided to stop in for some coffee, I’m NOT a morning person and wanted to grab and go BUT was VERY intrigued by a barista named MEG! Very calming, patient and fast! I will be returning for my morning cup she was so inviting and walked me through the entire experience as well as asking if it was my first time here as she saw I looked confused, I love how she payed attention to me and made my experience very smooth.. reviewing because the world needs more people like this and the coffee was amazing she insisted on steaming my cream instead of allowing me to use the creamer that had been sitting out .. very unique! 5 stars!

I ran into a former student (Crystal). The service is excellent. The place was spotless. We enjoyed the atmosphere so much. Can't wait to return to Chicago so we can go back.

If you're looking for a place to chill and get to know your neighbors better look no further, but if you're a coffee lover this place will be very disappointing to you. My family has tried the coffee on multiple occasions to give it a fair shot but each time the coffee was either very weak, burnt or just plain bland. Save your money, have coffee at home or of you're still on the hunt for a South side coffee spot that has a warm community feeling, ample space to work plus a great coffee bar drive further south to Kusanya for a yummy strong cup of their Ethiopian blend.
