Food was good. Had the double cheeseburger housestyle with fries. And a caramel milk shake. Just be aware that indoor seating is counter style along the windows. There is more group friendly seating outside but it’s not covered or enclosed in the cold season.

First time trying as I’m new to Chicago. Burger fries and cheese pretty good but they forgot to put onions on my burger when I said extra and forgot my garlic aioli. Since it’s a blizzard outside I didn’t want to go back but it was still a good meal. Similar to shake shack but Cheval burgers are better!

For anyone gluten-free, Small Cheval is arguably the best dining option in Hyde Park between their many gluten-free options, great-tasting gluten-free food, and relatively knowledgeable kitchen. Almost all of the menu is already gluten-free (chicken tenders, fries, most shakes) or can be made gluten free with a gluten-free bun. I loved that I felt pretty normal ordering here. We weren't ordering off a separate menu, and it didn't feel like a big deal to be gluten-free....
