Went here for a lunch today after class. It was completely dead at 12:15 on a Wednesday. Paid $21 for a double cheeseburger, fries, and a can of pop. Food was ready in ~5 minutes. Fries were fresh and tasted fine. They came with a tiny cup of garlic aioli that was < 25% full. Probably less than a tablespoon.
The burger. š š¤¢ Not hyperbole, but I think it is top 5 worst burgers Iāve ever had. Maybe as high as 2nd worst. Bun, two patties, cheese, pickles, grilled chopped onions, and their special sauce. The only flavor I could taste was acrid carbon. I didnāt taste a pickle; I felt them in my mouth but no flavor. I could see the onion, no flavor. The cheese was in fact gooey, but I couldnāt taste it. Everything was overpowered by a potent stale char flavor.
I donāt know what happened. This was my 3rd time at this location. Other two times were just fine, damn tasty burger. This was so bad. I wonāt be back.

Charging extra to dine in is ridiculous.
while at its best small cheval can do a great burger, and the buns and sauces are never bad, the chefs often seem to often pre-/par-cook hamburger patties and heat lamp/reheat them as needed. this is understandable from a workload standpoint, and perhaps only happens when busy, but really worsens the burger at its core; rather than maillard crisp edges and fresh juices spilling out, you get school cafeteria chewy, uniformly dry and flavorless. even nice fixings canāt cover that kind of thing up, and you expect more for the price.

My husband and I choose to celebrate Valentineās Day here! āNough said! We love how romantic each one feels <3
Had heard good things about the Au Cheval and have not been so tried Small Cheval but this burger was just ok. I will definitely try the Au Cheval sometime soon but would rather try a different local joint that go back here. Staff was nice, atmosphere is calm and clean, nice outdoor area and it was fast.

Vegetarian, got the plant based burger with cheese. At $15 a burger, you'd be happier getting 3 impossible whoppers from Burger King. This was probably the most disappointing culinary experience I've ever had. The buns are slightly stale, grocery store quality. The patty was gray and spongy. Overall, blah.

Burgers and fries were great as always and the the salted caramel milkshake was really good too. Customer service was on point and everyone was really friendly. The layout is a little funky but the outdoor patio looks nice for when the warmer weather hits

Carry out bags could be better. Sharp paper handles dig into hands.

Overpriced.
Aldi's is down the street.
The ambience feels uncomfortable.
