The waitresses make the entire vibe.

I am an educator of 12 years living on the southeast side, and I recently stopped by Small World while picking up food from the restaurant next door. I arrived on my bicycle and went in for drinks while waiting for my order.
Because I was on my bike, I asked if there was a safe place to leave it so it wouldnât get stolen. I briefly stepped out to check on my food order next door and to make sure my bike was still there. Apparently this triggered the owner watching the cameras to call the bartender and instruct them to tell me to remove my hood and that I could not come in and out. I did not hear or see any clear communication about this when I first walked in.
Shortly afterward, I noticed the exact same speech being given to a group of young men about not going in and out, so clearly this is a rule being enforced in a reactive way through the cameras rather than through clear communication at the door.
When I raised concerns about how the situation was handled, I was told to leave and that I should have never been served in the first place. That statement reflects more on management than on the customer. If there are rules regarding hoods, bicycles, or re-entry, they should be clearly communicated when someone walks in â not relayed through surveillance after the fact.
Direct and respectful communication would have prevented this entire situation. Instead, it escalated unnecessarily and resulted in a customer being dismissed rather than a simple clarification of expectations

1st time ever coming here. Called in an order for a simple order of wings and fries at 7:30 which they said would be ready in 25 minutes. Showed up and it wasnât ready. Waited until 8:40 for them to say âjust a few more minutesâInstead of applying the Wednesday dine in special discount to my order, they said theyâd apply it ânext weekâ. Never againâŠ.
