Amazing experience with Chef Daniel! He catered our 4th of July BBQ, and every single person asked for his info. We did not have any leftover, as guests were more than eager to take food home. We had the brisket, pulled pork, and chicken with mac and cheese, green beans, and coleslaw. Everything was DELICIOUS! Even the pickiest kids (who would usually touch nothing except chicken nuggets) were digging in. We will definitely go to Smoky Soul BBQ for our next event.

Pop up shop on 6/19/23. The brisket was very tender and delicious. I love ribs without sauce. They were superb along with the sausage and wings. Not sure what kind of sausage that was however it was delicious!! Will definitely support again.

Used him to cater a small office party, he worked with us with us to stay on budget and was on time with delivery. Everyone enjoyed it all, we had brisket, tips and a few equally delicious sides. He even provided Jackfruit sliders for the vegan in the office and they were exceptional. He is highly recommended and we will use him again!

Nothing short of OUTSTANDING! Daniel uses the greatest time-honored techniques and leads the next generation of great Chicago pit masters... and you can TASTE it in every bite! From the great wood burning in the smoker to the appropriately perfect rubs to the tender chew, anything to try from Smoky Soul BBQ is well worth that try. You really can't get better rib tips and the brisket runs with the best in the country... If he does it, consider it a blessing if you can get it. I've been around, but don't take MY word for it.Once you get to enjoy, come back to this review and express your agreement. This is legendary eating from a legendary community asset!

Chef Daniel provided some excellent bbq for our forty personal. veteran event today at UChicago. We got both types of Chicago style rib tips, apple garlic chicken, triple mac, coleslaw, and brisket. The brisket was gone in less than 20 minutes! Later there was a mad scramble for the few remaining leftovers. When I’ve got several dozen hungry veterans to feed, SmokySoulBBQ will be our go-to bbq choice on the south side!
