We got in and were seated immediately for our reservation. The food didn't take long to come out at all and it was delicious! Our waitress was very nice and she attended to us well. The owner came over and talked for a minute and stopped back to check on us when the food came out. The music isn't too loud and every song was a good song. It's a really nice place. I don't like public bathrooms but theirs was clean and smelled so good! We'll definitely be back when we go back to Chicago.

Although they had ceiling fans, it was extremely warm inside. Mind you, the outside temp was 100 degrees, you'd think they would have working air. Other than that, food, service and drinks were a HIT! I forgot our server name but she was pregnant, WE LOVE HER!!!!!she was attentive, patient and gave great drink selection (prior to pregnancy) :D Lastly, they only have street parking. Hopefully, they will buy adjacent lot and make parking spaces. I'd go back but please fix the air

There was something different about the yams this time, they were good but not as good as before.

We took my mom here for her 75th birthday on Juneteenth. We all really enjoyed the food. My mom had fried catfish w/ creamy corn and asparagus. I had seafood gumbo. My brother had the lollipop lamp chops w/dirty rice and asparagus. And my daughter had the salmon and shrimp with mashed potatoes. You can also get sides (mac and cheese, green beans w/turkey) which is alacar(enough to share). Everything was tasty that was order. Make sure you try the cognac bbq wings. They were 🔥. Drinks were tasty as well. The vibe was great but you have to make reservations. I loved that the seats at each table were very comfortable. The eating utensils were gold which is very fancy. They even had a fire place with couches set around it. I think everyone should patronize this black owned restaurant.

It was just meh! The fried green tomatoes were just ok. It wasn't anything standout or remarkable. The lambchops and grits. The lambchops were cooked perfectly. The grits had too much cream and changed the texture of the grits completely. It was like eating spoons full of seasoned cream. The catfish fillet was good. Once again nothing to write home about and fried a little too hard. This might have been the best thing on the table. Mac and cheese taste and looked like boxed mac and cheese. It was dry and lacked flavor. The greens and fried chicken were just ok. The shrimp and grits. 0/10. The sauce for the shrimp and grits was brown and tasted like a gravy packets with butter. The shrimp were brown from the sauce and the entire dish looked unappealing. Nevermind that the five shrimp were overcooked medium shrimp. If I'm paying $25 for shrimp and grits please don't let them be over cooked where they look like baby shrimp. Our server came by maybe once. She never acknowledge that I did not touch my food nor were we offered more water. She was nice though. I will give this place another try but I was not impressed.

The atmosphere was good, vibes were good; however, the food was horrible. The food seemed flashed cooked when we ordered it as it came out 5-8 mins later.

My wife and I went to get a quick bite and we had all were appetizers, the mini crab cakes, salmon egg rolls, the spinach w/shrimp dip and butter cake for dessert. It was delicious! We liked the decor as well as the customer service. We were greeted and sat right away(had reservations) the only down side is that it seems like the air wasn't on because it was hot.

We traveled to Chicago on vacation and chose Soule' for lunch based on very good online reviews. It's a cute restaurant located in the heart of a blighted mixed-use commercial/residential neighborhood. Service was okay. I appreciate that Soule' employs young people, however, some of them need more "polish" and training, i.e., do not scroll through your phone while greeting guests. I would also suggest employees not sit in the dining room and chat with each other across the room. The food fell short of my expectations. I requested lamb chops medium-well but they were well done and difficult to cut with the butter knife. I asked our server if the green beans were fresh. She said they were, but they were definitely canned and overly salty - I sent them back. The best part of my meal was the mashed potatoes. They were homemade and perfectly seasoned. Although my meal had high- and low-notes, I would recommend Soule' in support of the business' mission to revitalize the community, which is the most important thing.

Sides were good, small portions though, especially on the lamp chops. I think the catfish is what they specialize in. The chicken wasn't seasoned very well.
