I really enjoyed myself the food was great, the customer service was awesome I will be back!!
Food was 10 out of 10 it was perfect Drinks 10/10 Service was amazing it was my first time and it was a good experience best soul food I had in a long time Highly recommend
It was a busy night they were short staffed. It took drinks so long to come out and a few of the wings were over cooked. The live dj was nice, but it was too loud, often times having to yell.
Too noisy. A male worker walked about with his pants hanging down and his underwear exposed. The rice and yams didn't taste homemade. Food too salty.
My husband ordered the salmon, it was slightly over cooked (little dry), but it was delicious. I ordered the lamb chops medium well, they were severed well done. They were also very tasty (seasoned well), just a little chewy due to them being well done. Our waitress was nice, but she was a little distracted. The music was great, just a little loud. The ambiance was great, the food was good, and the price was decent. I would definitely recommend eating at Soule, just make sure your order is prepared correctly.
I love soule. The food is always amazing and the drinks are always great. My only suggestion is to be lower the music a bit because sometimes I can't hear my partner or whoever I'm with talking cause the music is a bit loud but other than that, I love it here.
The food was excellent . We will definitely go again, try to go early if you can. It gets crowded after 6pm
Britany was an amazing server very nice and accommodated our every need customer service 10/10 overall drinks were pretty good 8/10 didn't really like the mac no flavor but lamb chops were decent 6/10 JERK WINGS AND RUM CAKE 10/10 will be back for happy hour and potatoes 9/10
My friend and myself brought our daughters for there fall break from Indianapolis to Chicago and had reservations for Soule on October 18th at 7:15pm. We found the restaurant on TikTok and despite the negative reviews, decided to go to have our own experience. Well we regretted it from the moment we got there and even though we had reservations, still waited 15 minutes before we were seated. Then waited another 20 minutes before our order was taken. We ordered 1 appetizer and it came out 5 minutes before our food. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food and the restaurant was NOT crowded! We were very disappointed in how the food taste and expressed that to our waitress who didn't have any empathy about it, but instead decided to give us attitude behind it. We asked for the check and she didn't ask us how we wanted to split the check among our party and proceeded to tell us they don't split the check, but could run multiple cards and that WE needed to add up our totals ourselves and let her know the amounts. All-in-all the service was very poor and as much as our family visits Chicago often, we will NEVER be back to Soule. And we will tell everyone we know that they shouldn't either!
My husband and I enjoyed our meals. The standouts were the MUSIC (it was an entire vibe), bourbon jerk wings, catfish sliders & blueberry lemon drop martinis . All of the food was seasoned and cooked extremely well. I'm so glad that we were able to experience Soulé and support a Black-owned business.

Went on Thursday it was live music $6 lemondrops (6 flavors all were great )& $1 whole jerk & bbq jerk wings . Need I say more get there on a Thursday asap
I am not one to write reviews but I feel this is a restaurant that is definitely over hyped. On Sunday September 28th me and my family went to celebrate my sister’s 23rd bday here. We arrived at our reservation time of 3:45 and weren't seated till almost 4:00, which was strike one.
Strike two was the food. Appetizers were pretty good for the most part. The main dishes took an hour to come out and that is not an exaggeration! When the main dishes came they were brought in the weirdest order. Sides came first and then 10-15 minutes later came the main dish 😐. Food was lukewarm as if it had been sitting waiting to be picked up for quite some time. Jerk wings were about the size of a thumb! Soule punch tasted like literal kool aid.
Strike three was overall service which I give a minor 3/5. Our server by the name of Tony T was pretty cool when we first sat down and overall attentive. He assured us numerous times the food was coming and apologized for the wait and provided a free plate of cornbread. For it to not have been that busy his attentiveness plummeted. Our food was brought by like 3 different servers who didnt even have an idea of what our orders were. After our mediocre meal we were pretty much ready to leave. We wrapped up the meal around 5:30 and asked for the check. Tony did not bring the check until 6:00. When i checked the time on the receipt it said 4:15 print out time.
When we periodically requested the check he deliberately ignored us. Fortunately another server retrieved him for us and we made it clear that he was ignoring us. Overall this was not a satisfactory experience which was very disappointing due to the occasion. Me and my family strive to support black businesses, but we wont be returning this one.

Why does the music have to be so loud? Everyone was yelling at each other. Couldn't hear the server 😅 just loud for no reason it wasn't even 8 yet.
Down in the delta was good. Flavourful. Shrimp cooked perfectly. Catfish was ok.
Cognac honey bbw wings were tasty but didn't taste Cognac.
Soul sister drink was exquisite
The table enjoyed the honey fried chicken and the salmon.

Overall, my experience at Soulé in Chicago was a good one. We had dinner reservations for 7:15 on a Friday, and since the restaurant was still a little empty at that time, the service was attentive and smooth. The food had no complaints at all—everything tasted pretty good and was well-prepared. A solid spot I'd definitely consider returning to.
