South Branch Tavern & Grille (The Loop - Chicago)

I ordered Poke, but the rice was overcooked—it was overly sticky and had a pasty texture. The fish also had an overly strong fishy smell.

Really good food with great service in a relaxing setting overlooking the river. The only downer was the droning of 90's and early 2000's music that added nothing to the experience. Cut the tunes and keep up the good food and service.

Bizarre experience. The waiter was having a rough day...we thought we were on candid camera. food was okay. I usually enjoy going to here, but this one wasn't the best showing.

Great service! It was a great location to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful patio along the river, great views. The food was excellent.

I had to move a reservation up during the week for a business meeting - and Steph was extremely helpful and cooperative to make it happen! It was not an easy task but she made it work. The meeting went off without a hitch. Our waiter was attentive and ensured we stayed on time. Another fabulous meal with the South Brand team.

Great service, amazing ambiance. & food. Table side outside by the river was gorgeous. Summer time Chi vibe is unmatched. If you sign up for the rewards program, you even get a delicious appetizer.

Excellent service and solid food as usual. Added bonus of outdoor seating near the river. Always a great place to meet out-of-town colleagues!

We came for my wife's birthday. The staff knew about the event and tested us first class. Service was amazing. They gave us a complimentary desert which happened to be my wife's favorite. The manger stopped by the table to greet us. Overall a wonderful evening. Would definitely go back.

Food and service are solid, but not outstanding. Salads came without dressing and entree decent. This is the second time I have dined here this month for business.

We were seated by the host outside. We sat for 25mins without being greeted or getting waters. Bartender was making eye contact and tended to one table but not us. The server on shift went to the tables on each side of side and never stoped at our table. It was NOT busy. Only a handful of tables! Never coming back.

The food was very good, and the waitstaff was quite helpful and friendly. The food service speed was timely for a few of the orders, but very slow for our other person that came near a big rush. Still, not a fan of the 3% surcharge, which was ONLY for the Covid season (which has past). But I would come again.

Met up with some colleagues to talk business opportunities. Convenient location for our offices and to commute home. Had some drinks and appetizers which were good, and the service is good. Depending on the crowd, it can get a little noisy, but sitting at a booth we didn't have to shout.

I recommend South Branch to a friend for its close proximity to transit in downtown Chicago. I've been there several times before, but not in recent years. The food came out super quick. Even the waitress was surprised. I was disappointed the food wasn't very flavorful & tacos came with flour tortillas instead of corn. The cocktails were watered down. Service was excellent & ambiance is great... Best when you can sit outdoors on the Chicago River. Overall, you can't beat the location. I'm just disappointed that the food/drinks were not better for the price paid in downtown Chicago.

South Branch is great and our server Amberly was wonderful!
