I found this restaurant on TikTok a creator said it was a good place for food. I went to try for myself. David was the cashier/server he was ok 3 out of 5 but the food was terrible my joloif rice was scorched and my eguisi soup was dry and lump.

Never again will I give $30 for such trash!!! Pieces of meat and they charge $2.99 per piece of meat. This is not for me.

I do understand that everybody's experiences different this is just my experience that I am sharing as a top reviewer it's never been my place to randomly kick a business down but I have to share my Unforgettable experience I'm always up for wanting to try different Cuisines from different cultures someone actually recommended this place to me I wasn't that far from the location so I decide to go in and give them a try I have always wanted to try Nigerian food when I first got walked in everyone that was sitting down eating at the tables kind of stopped eating and conversation stopped and all eyes were on me at that point.
I did not pay that any attention so I looked on the menu also I pulled out my phone to ask Google what each dish contained because I don't eat beef or pork so what I was going to purchase was the Joll of rice, vegetable soup and a pounded yam. There was a gentleman in front about to leave with his order and no one else behind me so when I came to the ordering window I smiled and spoke to the lady she immediately looked at me with such a frown and a face of disgust. So she rudley asked what I would like to order? so I was asked her questions about the soup I didn't know if it was marinated with any kind of pork or shrimp because I have shellfish allergies. I was asking her to kindly explain the selections that I picked before purchasing so while we were talking there was a gentleman that came in and she let him get in front of me they were both smiling and laughing I didn't get that same welcoming greeting, I could only take so much disrespect I told the gentleman Hey brother I'm sorry but I was here first my face could tell I really was pissed off he apologized but I wasn't upset at him she took him in front of me and he wasn't even ready to order so the lady in the window asked me very Rudely whats the problem now ? I responded and said I'm on a lunch break I'm pressed for time and you took someone else in front of me I told her you were explaining to me what was inside of my selections that I was going to purchase. but now I don't even want to spend my money here at this business I told her your attitude and your customer service it's not good I am someone who was giving your business a try for the first time. I didn't curse or anything but I definitely let her know I did not appreciate her customer service and I let her know that you make it hard for other blacks to support other blacks in business from the time I walked in to the time I ordered I felt that the locals and the lady that was taking orders were looking down at me for whatever reason I'm not sure if it's because they were Nigerian and me coming in as a light skin black man didn't exactly fit the look of the regular patrons that come in I can't really explain you would have to have been there with me to experience what I experienced I feel so disgusted leaving. To sum it up my peoples this was the worst experience ever but hey your experience might be different from mine as I stated I'm just sharing with you my experience

Me and my friend were really excited to try this place since we saw it on tik tok, we were left really disappointed.
1. We were first in line and the guy surviving ignore us and tried surviving the a lady in the back of the line. I damn near had to scream at him that I was ordering.
2. We got our food. I got the egusi soup with chicken and futu. And my friend got the jollof rice.
- The chicken was so hard and rubbery. It was nasty.
- The egusi soup had no flavor. Just tasted like peppers and oil. I got home and had to season it myself.
- The rice tasted burned.
- fufu was fine, didn't taste like anything
Honestly just really disappointed, was not worth the drive.

OMG where do I start… this is the best African food I’ve had in Chicago #HandsDown
It’s always so fresh, hot and beyond delicious and they aren’t stingy with the portions. I’ve tried things I would have never thought to try in life and I have no regrets. The service is always amazing and the restaurant is always clean and inviting. To make things even better you can always find parking no matter how busy they are. So back to this good a** food lol I have to get some at least once a week and that never seems to be enough. I love them dearly and I hope they always stay amazing and delicious

South side African restaurant has fallen off. Ordered Egusi with fish. The Egusi did not have the authentic flavor and the fish was dried out, inedible. I will not be returning.

God IS #1!

Rude! I will never patronize a place that doesn’t treat me with respect! Came and after patiently waiting in line, I stepped up & asked for pounded yam & inquired whether 2 dishes had meat in them because my family is vegetarian. Was told to have a seat. Watched as 4 other people were waited on. Stepped out of line because I wasn’t going to wait for other four people to be waited on before I could have a question answered. What if I waited for nothing?? Went to front of restaurant *just to inquire* about whether meat was in other dishes we wanted to try. Without even listening to question as I was trying to say I wanted to ask—interrupted by woman waving me off with top of dish container! She rudely yelled, “Go to other end! Go to other end!” Won’t be back again. Lost potential repeat customers. Sad.
