Usually pretty slow, which is understandable being in a somewhat busy train station, but have gotten especially slow as of late. Expect to wait 10 minutes or more after the time given on the app.

This place is the absolute worst. They are so slow, I would never rely on getting coffee here if you have anywhere you need to be.
It's the Starbucks in the Chicago Union Station Station Food Court, soooo that's the ambiance. Quick service. Coffee machine grinds the beans to order so every cup is fresh. This also allows for more variety choice of coffee flavor and strength. You can also get the typical Starbucks food options. AND they also take the Starbucks gift cards, unlike many of the Starbucks in this type of location.
Always busy, always nice. Coffee and service great like most other Starbucks!
I went to get coffee and a cheese danish. And the girls there are so slow and play around with the manager all time and every day. So I didn’t get the coffee or danish . And the manager attitude is just as bad as the workers. Chicago union station star . Is the worst one I’ve been to yet. I work for the railroad. And I’m in Union Station Monday through Friday and one day maybe two days after the week I can get something from Starbucks. The The service there really needs to change.

So you can check my history, I don't typically do reviews for a lot of franchises. But this was an extra-ordinary interaction.
I've been coming to Starbucks at Union Station for the past 3 years or so. It's always busy, it's always chaotic. It's Union Station. It's expected. Today was a little extra, but a gentleman named Lucas was expediting and just KILLING it with the customer service and keeping the energy of the crew behind him high.
Shout out to the rest of that morning crew, they were on a mission, and we're all doing the best they could. Thank you for helping me get my morning started in the right direction!

I was in a group of 4, we all got our drinks in less than 5 minutes which was amusing! The drinks were amazing as well!
On average I have to wait 15+ minutes to get my drink. There have been lines with 5+ people in it and nobody at the register while the employees talk to each other about their weekend.
It's hit or miss if they open at the time stated on the weekends. A few times I've gone to get a drink around 5:15, 15 minutes after they open, and the cage is still up around the store and the employee tells me they will open soon.

So I unfortunately had to call the health department on this location which is something I never do at Starbucks but this location really rubbed me the wrong way. Sad that Lucas, a so called “stupid visor” is violating health codes while making your drinks. The Chicago Department of Health agreed with my observation. See photo. Most people don’t care but those of us who don’t want someone who just played with their braids, scratched their butte, and rub their nose making our food and coffee without washing their their hands and wearing gloves care!

As a former partner of Starbucks, it’s disappointing when I visit this location and experience bad food service. Today, I got into an argument with Lucas, a so called “stupidvisor” who screamed at me for getting a top for my coffee!
I tried to explain to him that I was replacing my top because the girl that made my cup touched my previous coffee top with her hands after playing with her long red braids that were not properly constrained with a hairnet.
But he continued to go off on me to the point where the manager heard it from the back and came up front.
Please be advised that this location doesn’t follow proper food handler protocols like hand washing and wearing gloves when providing food service. Eat and drink with hair and germs in your food and coffee! See my pics and video.
