5 stars all across the board. The skillets were fantastic, the atmosphere was great — it’s the textbook definition of a perfect diner. I went with my friend, Stella, and the owner gave her a free milkshake. So kind!! This is my new favorite breakfast spot and I can’t wait to come back.

I visit my daughter in Chicago 2/3 times a year.
We have to stop by before I head back to L.A.
Always so fresh and fulfilling!
The servers are alway so attentive.

Food was tasty and looked very presentable. I felt it was a little pricy for a breakfast. Overall good place.

If you’re looking for a true Chicago neighborhood gem, Stella’s Diner in Lakeview is it. Walking in, you immediately feel the history and warmth of a family owned spot that’s been around since the 60s. The staff treats you like you’ve been coming there forever and they’re friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming.

The menu is exactly what you want in a diner: classic breakfast served all day, plus comfort food favorites that taste homemade. I also love that they offer lighter, healthier options, so you don’t have to feel guilty if you’re not in full “diner mode.”

Prices are super reasonable for the portions you get, especially in the city. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick coffee and eggs, a big family meal, or grabbing takeout through delivery, the quality is always consistent.

Stella’s has that rare mix of nostalgia and neighborhood charm…….. Definitely a must if you’re in Lakeview East and want a taste of Chicago comfort.

Decent breakfast sandwich, but the oatmeal I ordered was a little cooler than it should be. Might be back to try out their lunch menu.

Delicious food took a few minutes to get wait staff over once we sat down but after that they were on point with the coffee refills. That egg in the hole burger was awesome! French onion soup was yummy although I like my cheese a bit more well done on it. Will be back.

This spot has that classic diner feel with friendly service and generous portions. The menu covers all the breakfast and lunch favorites, from eggs and skillets to sandwiches and burgers. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it easy to settle in for a casual meal. It’s the kind of place that feels like a neighborhood staple.

It’s a nice spot to grab a meal with friends or family. The menu has a fair mix of options, from light bites to filling meals, so there’s something for everyone. Prices are reasonable, and the relaxed setting makes it an easy choice for a simple breakfast or brunch together.

This is an adorable little diner, and we both enjoyed our meals. Pricing is quite reasonable for Chicago. I would go back.
