The ramen and dumplings we had were absolutely delicious! The best ramen noodles I've ever had. The staff were super nice and friendly. A very cute little restaurant!

I reallyyyyyyy liked my spicy garlic ramen. Easily some of the best ramen I’ve had and the eggs don’t taste frozen like other places. Servers are amazing & kind.

The food and everything was good, the broth just had WAYYYYY to much salt for me, it kind of soaked into everything else and made everything salty

String Ramen Shop is an absolute must-visit! I first discovered this gem back in 2015 while visiting Chicago from Syracuse, New York, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Every time I’m in town, I have to stop by for their consistently amazing ramen and warm, inviting atmosphere it almost feels like being back in New York. Sadly, I can’t find anything like this back home, which makes it even more special when I’m here. The service is phenomenal outstanding, really and I’m not easy to impress when it comes to both food and service. They’ve won me over completely, and I’ll definitely be coming back again soon. I truly love String Ramen Shop!

Hot Ramen on a cold winter day will get you right in the mood.

I'm increasing one star and I would give 6/5 if I could because the kindest people work here.

My favorite ramen shop in Chicago! It never disappoints! I usually get ramen, but this time I tried the Belly Buster Bowl and it was DELICIOUS! Every bite was filled with great flavor and the pork belly was so tender. The summer passion fruit stringria was also very refreshing! Overall, the food, drinks and service are top tier. I would highly recommend.

This place is a hidden gem of treasure it reminds me of the movie spirited away with the lanterns and night life energy. The place gets packed quickly so be ready to wait if you come during rush hour or dinner time, but worth the wait! The booth have lights and little plants it’s adorable and a nice environment treasure. The broth on these ramens are expert level. Delicious is beyond this world amazing! I even order extra noodles because I want to finish the last drop of broth. Delicate and yet so flavorful. There is a variety of ramen selections with different base broth for everyone. I recommend to try different kinds of Ramen and see which ones are your favorites. Their gyoza 🥟 IS THE BEST IN THE CITY HANDS DOWN. Steamy well cooked a pack of flavor and lightly spicey and a hint of sweet just right on the spot! I feel like they need more selections of appetizers as they don’t offer a broad selections of those and the other ones aren’t as wow factor. The drinks are fresh and cold and they give you ice. The staff is very attentive and well mannered and friendly ,but I have noticed a young lady server who also brings people to be seated from the entrance is really mean and standoffish and would not recommend her and luckily I have got all the male servers who are above and beyond expectations and always asking for your needs. I would say this place doesn’t offer fun deserts nothing new but the ramen it self is the main event. The bathrooms are NOT GREAT. Disgusting. Dirty and have urine all over. Graffiti all over looking like an alley. I think they need serious repairs inside the bathrooms and a good cleaning system. Other than that the dinning experience is amazing and would love for you to try those gyoza 🥟

The shoyu ramen lacked flavor and seemed a little lower on the salt side. The shio ramen was good and had a good broth. Shrimp gyoza was good. But comparatively Daifuku has better food. The service was very good and we only waited a couple minutes to be seated. Our server was also not always asking us if everything was good which is nice. Food also came very fast, within 10 minutes.

They came to be the best Ramen shop in all of Chicago, but I honestly found it to be average. Maybe it’s the best Ramen in Chicago. As I don’t have a lot of experience in the city, but compare to city like San Francisco. I would classify this Ramen as just average. The restaurant is conveniently located next to all the restaurants in Chinatown. We went on a Sunday and there was about 15 minutes wait to get a table. The menu is quite limited, and you wouldn’t find a lot of appetisers or other dishes apart from ramen which is not necessarily a bad thing. Ordered the edamame and it was okay. Wish they had a spicy salt or something. The dumplings were the highlight for me. The vegetarian ones were better than the chicken ones somehow. I got the special Ramen and while it was hefty, the taste was pretty average. The service was somehow quite cold. No greetings, nothing. I don’t think one should go into Asian restaurants expecting good service, but I would have liked a little more warmth.

Great food & atmosphere! Good prices too. The witty RamenHub sign out front had me laughing but it’s really nice inside and the food was amazing.

Solid ramen—no frills, nothing groundbreaking. If you’re looking for a ramen fix and you’re in the area, this will do the trick.

Best food I tried in Chicago so far. We tried the beef shank Ramen and the duck and pork belly rice bowl. They tasted amazing and Im sure all the other items are equally delicious. Staff were kind and helpful. The shop is carefully designed, you get to see little plants that are minimalist yet refreshing. You also see the kitchen from where you eat which gives you a good sense of how the food is prepared inside large pots. It has a very clean kitchen.
