It was awesome experience it was crowded , but not rushed the lines long and quick.... just a anticipation of sweet surrender and total bliss !!!!From the Korea grandmother who knew very little English and invited us to sit and talk to the youngest baby who couldn't talk we all wanted it .. the sweet happiness that is Sugar Shack!!!The employees were friendly, kind and patient that didn't mind answering our questions the weather was awesome not to hot or cold just a beautiful day for ice cream or whatever tasty treat your heart desired. ..First experience definitely not my last Lol????

LOVED THIS PLACE! parking along the side streets, amazing portion sizes, and just great options!! been here a few times and each time just solidifies this place's reputation as a true sugar shack. Their menu is extensive and affordable! They are open all year long which is super nice as someone with an ice cream sweet tooth even in winter. They do prefer cash but take card with an added surcharge. Food comes out super quick but keep in mind there isn't anywhere to eat outside or inside since it is literally a shack. Definitely a togo only place but their food more than makes up for it!

The Sugar Shack was a cool and sweet spot for the hot Chicago summers, but now they are open all year round! Try the ice cream and funnel cakes! Cash only. Service is fast!

Great place for ice cream. They now take credit/debit cards.

I was not expecting this to be a literal shack, but surely am not going to fault them for that (and the lack of seating - there is none) when it's in the name! General Notes: It was pretty busy for a Tuesday night. There is street parking right in front. You can in fact pay with card. Other reviews make it sound like they're seasonal & close at the end of October, so you'd better go before then! Food: The Banana Split sure was tasty! We got Vanilla, Oreo, and Cookie Dough as our 3 flavors. Included was also whipped cream, maraschino cherries, and 2 toppings. We selected Nutella and Cinnamon Toast Crunch (cereal) which honestly went so well with it. I would be inclined to come back for the Funnel Cake Sundaes! Service: We interacted with multiple of the staff, both of whom were friendly Cost: Pretty reasonable

The regular funnel cake Sunday is a good portion size to share between 2-3 people. It was so spectacular that we will definitely be coming back here to try items on the menu. We topped ours with vanilla soft serve, cookie dough, and strawberries. Go to Sugar Shack if you’re in search of some dessert or ice cream.

Look, if I could inhale this whole menu I would? Service is decent enough considering how small it is and how busy they usually are. Forgive my photo of the avalanche bc it was 100 degrees out and I was eating it so it wouldn't melt... but their ice cream/Italian ice combo is undefeated. And both of them are fire by themselves. PLEASE get the pop tart and get extra powdered sugar. Also funnel cake fries are it's a cool lil pop up mom and pops vibe there.

Feel like they’re loosing their touch on the funnel cakes. Which is the only reason I go. Went a couple weeks ago and it was over cooked didn’t bother goin back due to the extremely long line. They should probably look into another location because it’s always long lines consisting of a 20-30 min wait which could be why the cake was overcooked cuz they’re rushing.
