I used to frequent to this place because they have really good sushi with good appetizers but will not be going back to this place ever again! Me and my friend went there for dinner, while we were having food a random homeless person walks up to us and asks us money while we were eating there TWICE!!! and the servers did nothing about it did not ask him to leave.
It was not even the worst when we had to pay the bill, the waitress she outright was demanding us pay 12$ or more as tip and she was refusing to take our payment without it!
It was not even like we refused to tip them, we were just confused how rudely she was behaving and asking us to pay such tip before even we were given our bill asking for tip after the payment!
You lost a regular customer who used to love your food but will never come back again!

AYCE sushi in the south loop. Sushi are pretty good quality. Except too much rice. If they put a little less, the place will be amazing. Loved the grill squid. Full of grilled flavors. Tempura was good. flaky and crispy. Maki's are decent. The mochi dessert is way better than other places. Service is slow and unattentive at times.

First time here, surprised that BYOB isn't mentioned at all.
Came in with some beers and got the AYCE lunch. Started out with some Octopus Salad, which to my surprise was very good. The Grilled Squid was okay. A bit heavy on the seasoning and salty, even with the beer.
I ordered some nigiri pieces, which took a min to come out since they were a little busy. Then I added on some rolls, a miso soup, and a seaweed salad, so I could finish the Grilled Squid..
Long story short, the nigiri pieces were a miss. Too much rice to the fish ratio (it's AYCE, yes, but even with that expectation, it was a bit much).
But the rolls are where it's at. Because of the fact that their goal is to fill you with every single bite, their rolls are filled to the brim with veggies, which actually makes the rolls worth the price. Even when the rolls are a bit heavier on the sauce, you get mouthful of cucumber with them, making them quite filling and balanced.. ish.
The Wasabi that accompanies the sushi is old and dried out, and dark in color, but the ginger at least isn't the pink kind.
The ponzu is quite heavy on the soy sauce, so not worth the extra dollar, but all in all, Sumi is quite great for their ACYE.
Just skip the nigiri and stick with the rolls, and you'll leave full, for sure.

Restaurantji Recommends
All the food was delicious with a great price of $23.99/person for all you can eat. The restaurant has a simple design and ordinary atmosphere. All the rolls were freshly made and had a lot of fish and seafood inside. Great presentation, easy to eat. I would recommend this restaurant for sure and will come again!

If you're a "quantity over quality" type of person, then this is the place for you. It's not the best sushi around, but it's hard to beat an all-you-can-eat sushi menu for $30. And they have a nice variety as well.
Vegetarian options: It's a sushi place, not quite vegetarian-friendly. However, they do have a few vegetarian options that are clearly labeled in case you'll be joining your non-vegetarian friends.

Everyone’s commenting on the service but it’s not a dealbreaker. All the males and the one smaller girl who work there at least are super nice ? The place is clean and the food is great relative to the value for AYCE.

AYCE is a great deal - fresh sushi and great selection. The super white tuna (escolar) is so good! Tastes like white tuna version of chutoro.
And place is BYOB.
