The food here is always great. It's good that the flavors are consistent and the staff are beautiful people. The owner and his family create such a wonderful inviting experience. I'm glad this is one of my top favorites places in my community. Highly recommend.

The food was great! I had the breakfast fried rice and it was amazing! 🤤
The service is a little slow and because it is a smaller place it felt crowded. I dont think it took away from the atmosphere and was still able to have a nice conversation.

We simply had a terrific experience at Sun Rey Cafe this morning. Food was excellent and the people were great. Group enjoyed the Sante Fe Bowl, Veggie Bowl, Fried Rice dish, our adult son is still raving about the Bananas Foster french toast.

A Gem in Wicker Park!

Sun Rey Cafe is an absolute gem at a vibrant intersection in Wicker Park. This family-owned spot brings something truly special to the neighborhood with its flavorful Filipino fusion menu. Every dish offers a creative twist on traditional favorites, blending comfort and innovation with a modern café vibe.

The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and you can feel the heart behind everything they serve—clearly made with love and pride. Whether you’re stopping by for brunch with friends or enjoying a quiet cup of coffee, Sun Rey delivers warmth, flavor, and genuine hospitality.

Highly recommend if you’re looking for something unique, delicious, and full of soul. Support this wonderful family business—you won’t regret it!

The wood was horrible the pork was burnt and the chicken was overcooked. Additionally, it took over 50 minutes to get toast.

Fun place for breakfast. By the time we finished our breakfast it was packed. This is a family operation with dad cooking and his son serving. Breakfast was tasty.

I came Friday 6/20 shortly after opening. The service was friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, and the wait was minimal! They also have cute decor and good music. Too many empty tables! It's a small business (father-son), so come support it!

My partner & I try a new breakfast spot every Sunday & rank them just for fun. We came in for breakfast one morning about 2 months ago & we STILL talk about this place & it’s the top rated place we have tried so far! So was incredible & the service we got from the owners son was exceptional. We can’t stop raving about this place!
