Well worth every penny. If you have any reservations about visiting this placed based on its number of reviews (20 at the time of my posting this), please dispel those. If I could give this Omakase Experience a rating higher than 5 ⭐️’s I would. With some of the most interesting, different, and inventive flavor combinations & textural differences I’ve ever had (not just in a nigiri ? but ever). Me & my wife were nothing short of completely blown away by everything.Everyone knows the 5 tastes that we can detect (?????, ?????, ????, ??????, & ?????). Most Omakase Experiences focus on the Salty, Sour, & Umami notes the heaviest. Sushi | Bar gives you the full experience with some amazing Sweet notes as well as some soft Bitter notes on some of the rolls to accentuate the other core flavors.Dietary restrictions: My wife has a food borne allergy to some shellfish (shrimp ?, oyster , crab ?, lobster ) and was shown great care and attention and offered supplemental proteins in lieu of her allergens when they arose in a course.Parking: • There is no shortage of street parking available in all directions (which comes in handy when you have an oversized vehicle like myself).• There is countless paid lots nearby including the Trump Tower as well as several other enclosed lots all within a 4 block radius.

One of the greatest Omakase experiences I have ever had. The quality of the fish and preparation was Michelin quality. It was truly amazing. 16 courses with drink pairings to compliment each bite. This is a must try.

Sushi Bar has got to be my new favorite sushi omakase in the city. The ambience is beautiful and intimate, and the three chefs are incredibly talented, charming, and funny.I’ve always appreciated omakase experiences where you have the chance to learn more about the flavors, textures, and type of fish you’re consuming. Even better is when you get to know more about the chefs and chat with them like they’re your friends hanging at the bar. Each bite was a perfect creation and balance of flavors and textures and each chef incorporated flavors from their own backgrounds which is something I’ve never gotten to experience before in sushi omakase.Anyone trying to find a fun and delicious sushi omakase experience, be sure to check Sushi Bar out!Thank you everyone for such a wonderful experience! Will be dining here again.

After the first bite, I thought to myself… “how could this get any better?” Every single piece that the sushi masters Marcos, Alex, and Roman crafted, got better 16 more times. These absolute dawgs have the Midas touch when it comes to sushi. Do you remember the first time you fell in love? Well that feeling radiated throughout the whole 17 course meal, and didn’t ghost you afterwards. This meal may single handedly save your marriage if you need to impress the Mrs or anyone else in your life. Words cannot describe how awesome of a meal this was, so I will end this memoir on this - the best sushi experience you could ever ask for! Thanks again!

Incredible experience. I will warn you all, it’s a hefty price tag. But, there is just nothing like it. The staff and chefs know you by name, learn your likes and dislikes and really create an intimate experience. Though this experience is meant to be entertaining, Omasake is a serious craft, that requires keen attention to detail and years of experience. Each sushi piece was nothing short of art work and with absolutely zero room for error. Each piece of protein and many of the ingredients are flown in overnight from Japan, New Zealand, etc. Truly the best of the best.

There is no shortage of Omakase experiences here in Chicago, but if you are looking for an elevated experience with a head chef and team that clearly take pride in what they do and enjoy getting to know their customers, then you will love this place! Each bite was carefully crafted to be well balanced and showcase the variety of fish they serve. The entire experience was fabulous and the sake was also incredible. Definitely check it out!

This place is as good as it gets. Outstanding food quality, very creative pieces, terrific selection of sake, wine and other spirits, and a warm and fun atmosphere. It is a true 5-star dining experience.

When I go to a restaurant, there are only three things that I think are important; Atmosphere, Taste and Service. This restaurant is one of the few restaurants that meets all three of them. It was so impressive that everyone entered together on a theme such as speakeasy, and it was a memorable evening that the place with the name tag on it and the chef knew all the guests' names. The chefs taking turns explaining the menu was also different from the omakase I've been to, and the chefs who had small talk in between were very friendly. The dining space itself was small compared to other places, but I could feel the food itself more.HOWEVER, I didn't give 5 stars because the sake pairing was very disappointing. Drink pairing is about giving drinks that go well with the food, but it was very disappointed that sake was not even related to the food thats was serving and even the sommelier was said that the current sake goes well with the food that had already passed….Definitely recommend this restaurant for any occasion but not with sake pairing.*They also do valet for $18.00 which came out to be cheaper than street parking around the restaurant*

We are always in the hunt for a new food experience and we both especially have a soft spot for omakase so when a new spot opens in town we are very excited to give them a try.The whole experience:A pleasant experience for sure, great food great ambiance and friendly staff. It is a very intimate experience, you will normally get to talk to your fellow patrons which is part of why we love doing omakase. The Parking:Valet parking available, but NOT included with the experience. It would be much appreciated if that would be stated in text. We do not mind paying it but it was just a surprise since we thought it was included. The Service:Everyone was friendly and kind, all the staffs were attentive and the chefs very knowledgeable. Very great service. The Food:This is where I dock some points, there were some bites where it was an exquisite experience, such as the tartare on the perilla leaf was something else. The texture combination was divine and it tasted so good that I wish I could order it a la carte. But there are many pairings that I felt didn't work, some had conflicting flavors that I felt didn't pair together, some had a very simple profile that I felt was a let down. I also felt the pacing was a little too fast, we didn't have much time between the bites to discuss or let the bites sit in at all. That dampened the experience for me.All in all I would rate it a 3.5, since food weighs a little more heavily for me than the stellar service. However since we cannot do half stars I will give a 4.

Kudos to the Sushi Bar Chicago team. Originally went to Sushi Bar Austin and had a wonderful time. My second experience at Sushi Bar Chicago was also A+. Marcos and his team were professional, knowledgeable, and fun. Most important, they did a great job with the sushi. This is an experience and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique social dinner experience.

Mind blown. Such an amazing Omakase experience! Being in such an intimate setting, being able to talk to the chefs as they create the tastiest creations, was just amazing. Each bite is more creative and more delicious as the meal goes on! Such decadence, such flavor! The drinks, the service, the company, it all added up to one of the most memorable dining experiences I've ever had.

One of the best experiences I've ever had dining wise! Everyone was so friendly and explained everything so well. My boyfriend and I came for a celebration and were perfectly taken care of. Food was incredible and every bite was savored so well. They even let us enjoy pieces for a second time at the end, which we could not pass up! The coziness and intimacy of it all was the cherry on top and I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my saturday night.
