My favorite hidden spot in the city! Go to this place! The food is delicious and special and the owners are very kind. They always add little extra treats and the prices are so reasonable ?

This is the most underrated sushi place in Chicago. My Spicy Tuna Roll, Shrimp Tempura, and Dragon Roll were immaculate. The shaved ice is a 10/10 and the service is very nice. Coming back here more often.

We were super excited to try this place based on the reviews but unfortunately felt like we didn’t get much for dinner. We each got a Sashimi Deluxe. For $20, I’d expect a bit more than this and they were the tiniest cuts of sashimi I’ve ever seen. It was good but I wouldn’t go back for that price. Maybe the rolls are the thing to get here.

As my son would say, delicious and nutritious! We enjoyed the food here. Would definitely go back. Sushi can always be very scary because the freshness is always a concern. At Sushi Joon, our freshness concern was assuaged. No issues here! In fact, I find with more frequency an (small) issue is that the tables can scale to the smaller side at sushi spots. Especially with the way food is ordered an presented, you can run out of space very easily, especially if you're greedy like me! So... that's my only complaint - more table space please!Otherwise enjoy your meal time at Sushi Joon. You should leave very satisfied.

They took my food allergies seriously and have won me over. This is my go-to sushi place now! Our meals were all the things you want - eye appealing, tasty, high quality and fairly priced.

Rolls are good but sashimi is a joke. $16 sashimi appetizer was 10 tiny pieces of the thinnest fish you've ever seen.

The sushi was a little heavy on the rice and the chicken teriyaki was pretty good. However the takoyaki (octopus) appetizer kind of ruined it. It smelled super fishy and I could only eat one bite. The smell overpowered the entire meal.

I bookmarked Sushi Joon after seeing Yelpers rave about the low prices, especially the dollar specials.Yes, it's true: you'll find individual pieces of nigiri priced at one dollar each here - plus more expensive pieces of fish at, say, two or three dollars each. Many sushi rolls are also reasonably priced at $4-7, but note that these won't be ginormously sized. Not to worry - there are definitely pricier, larger, goopier rolls and other items available too. Still, the cheaper, smaller items are perfect if you're watching your wallet, portion sizes, and calorie intake. For such low prices, it won't be the highest-quality sushi ever, but it's all nevertheless very decent. Service is fast and efficient too. Thanks Yelpers for yet another solid, local, independent find!

I’m just blown away by the QUALITY of the food here! I’ve been searching for THE Japanese place to go and I’m so glad that after a long search (5 years in Chicago) I finally found it. Thank you so much for making great Japanese food... I’m just happy to live near by to enjoy it!Definitely give it a try!

Quality quality quality! I’ve been to many sushi places in the city and this is one of my favorites! Prices are affordable and they don’t overfill your rolls with rice. They are attentive to detail & the sushi is delicious! I also received an extra treat with my order. You can tell they really appreciate their customers!

My family and I have been going here for years. Before COVID, dining in was a treat. Joon would come to our table and greet us and it was such a joy to be around him. The food is delicious and consistent every time!
