We walked in at 2:45PM. Nasty looks, rolling eyes from the staff, and after 3 random "we close at 3PM. A manager" by the name of Angel with a NASTY attitude shows up and barks that they won't seat us because they "close at 3".
Please change your unprofessional attitudes,, and IF you indeed close at 2:45 don't list it as 3PM.

I had one of the salmon rolls with avocado. What happened to me I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Needless to say the food poisoning was so bad it was coming out both ways. It is still happening as I write this review. Never get sushi hear ever again this is the sickest I’ve been in my whole life. I am a healthy 22 year old man.

Server does not have table manners…
Took the menu off of my hands while I was looking at it just to sit it down on the table. Never came back to refill my water and then gave me this bad look as I left like he actually deserved a good tip. By the way this was on a Monday afternoon

This place has some nice sushi options, although it is hard to get into outside of off hours. We came on a Saturday at 2pm and didn’t need to wait for a table. Kids are welcome.

They have an all you can eat option as well as a traditional menu of rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. We had a salmon salad and it was both fresh and tasty. The sushi rolls were mid, they were fresher than other neighborhood places but overall the rice wasn’t as soft as you want it.

The service was good, and the green tea was good.

Kid-friendliness: Kid options, kids were inside

People who rate this establishment well, I feel sorry for you, it means you have never eaten delicious sushi. It goes back to Europeans, they cook Ukrainians deliciously. It's not tasty here.
The service is bad. The kitchen is very dirty. The toilet is very dirty. The bar is also not very clean. Horror.

I got food poisoning here at 2/17/2025. Stomach cramps and other things , which I would rather not mention. The quality has been going down at Sushi Taku. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to going and now I will never return.

A very spacious and delicious option in Wicker Park! My friends got AYCE sushi and I ordered the rainbow roll for lunch. Service was variable, as some of our dishes came out quickly and others were a bit more slow. The rolls were absolutely scrumptious and the appetizers all looked sublime! A lot of natural lighting and seating.

The place is definitely popular, prices are good, Food is not bad, service is ok.
The menu lacks some colors and descriptions,

The all you can eat portions are huge, the restaurant has the policy where you have to pay for the leftovers, which is alright.
BUT in case if you want to try different things you’ll fail finishing them (because of the size of portions)
If you order something to try and you didn’t really like it you still have to finish it or you’ll have to pay for it.

Overall it’s a good place for a date night.

Honestly the food was nice. The service was horrible however, the host was really sweet and nice. The wait time was nice, and we got seated really quickly .
Our server was horrible honestly. It was our first time here, and she didn’t bother to explain anything. She even asked it was our first time here.
She gave us a pen and paper and left? We manage to figure it out eventually, and the food was pretty nice.
The server didn’t bother to explain what food was what, plopped it on a table and left. But we did see her explaining it to like every other table??
Honestly it might not be a HUGE deal, but it feels absolutely horrible.

The tempora batter is really bland so a lot of the appetizers that use it end up tasting really bland as well. The calamari was also overcooked. Sashimi salad is nice to share, but a bit too much of the same flavor for one person.
I like the appley sushi roll though and the standard things like gyoza and edamame were nothing to complain about. Chicken karaage was good too.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience but there's just better places to go
