The customer service here was terrible from start to finish. When we walked in at 5:15-5:30p on December 8th 2025 , no one greeted us. We sat at the bar, and the blonde bartender asked for our IDs. We handed them directly to her, yet she placed them back on the counter instead of handing them to us unnecessary and rude.
She then walked away and brought over another woman with dark hair, who immediately approached us with a hostile attitude. She demanded our IDs again, even after we explained they were just checked. Her tone was aggressive and completely unprofessional.
The overall experience left a very negative first impression. I definitely will not be returning, and I hope management seriously retrains their staff to improve their customer service.

Sutherlands is amazing. I appreciate the staffs and managers kindness to me even though I have autism and their food is amazing and really good. Owner Steve and Laura and Marilyn is nice. The restaurant is in good condition. Amazing loaded fries. Must come back. 10/10.

Iāve been coming to Sutherlandās for about six years now. Itās always been one of my favorite neighborhood spots good drinks, familiar faces, and a comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, my last visit really changed how I feel about the place. A friend and I came in for a few drinks and some appetizers. It was a busy night, but nothing too crazy. My food was wrong at first, but mistakes happen, and I didnāt make a fuss they fixed it and that was fine. The issue came at the end of the night. I paid for our main tab on my card but ordered an extra round of drinks in cash so I could get a couple of dollars back to pay my friend. It was only $2, but after about 15ā20 minutes, the bartender never brought my change. When I politely asked someone else if I could get it back, the bartender came over visibly upset, slammed the money down, and said, āHereās your two dollars.ā That attitude really rubbed me the wrong way. Iāve worked in the service industry myself, and no matter how small the amount, I always made sure to confirm with the customer before assuming any change was a tip. Itās just basic respect and good etiquette. Iāve noticed lately that the quality of bartenders at Sutherlandās has gone downhill compared to how it use to be. I still love this neighborhood bar and hope management takes this as constructive feedback. Next time I stop in, Iāll make sure to sit with one of the bartenders I know provides great service because the regulars deserve better.
Very good burger. I come here often for beers, burgers and i usually get the hummus. Not a big pub, but they have outside tables in the summer. Good spot and the girls are always welcoming and friendly. I recommend getting the portage fries.

My husband and I were looking to eat with our two children. The waitress who served us barely gave us time to order, and while we were talking, she walked away. My husband didn't have time to order anything for himself, and she left. The food I ordered for my youngest son and me arrived 40 minutes later. Someone else, who wasn't a waiter, brought it. No one ever came back to ask us what else we were going to order. My husband and my oldest son were never able to order anything to eat, nor could we stop them from getting anything else to eat. In the end, when someone approached, we just wanted to leave and look for food elsewhere. I think the waitress's service was very poor. No matter how rushed you are, you should take good care of your customers. I think it's a good place for people who want to have a beer or a drink, but not for a family who wants to eat.
