Had the BEST chocolate shake here!! Oh I also had the chocolate baklava as well as the peach cobbler none of those disappointed. Don’t walk but run over to sweet drip and enjoy a sweet treat!! You won’t be disappointed!
Lemon mint smoothie is not great, especially for the price. They also were not clear about the details of their product, and added a bunch of additional chocolate to my croissant. And when I asked if I could get one not submerged in chocolate he would not allow. Expensive with mediocre service.
Friendly and the smoothie were great the cake was good too
Cool vibe! Not only can you indulge in some amazing sweet treats and beverages you can also play chess.
Decent spot was in the area so I tried there fruit cocktail smoothie. This was cool nothing crazy here more of slushy than smoothie to me. The combination of pineapple, strawberry, banana, kiwi, and blueberries are what's included but wished they offered some veggies ingredients. But they offer cakes, puddings, coffee and other desserts worth checking out thou. But in term of the smoothie thou 7.4.
My guity pleasure in the local area. Their Belgian waffles are insanely good. My friend is addicted to their baklava. Definitely a highlight of the Hyde Park area and I place I often take visiting friends to. If you are a UChicago student, you are eligible for a 10% discount!
Sweet Drip Cafe in Hyde Park is a delightful dessert and coffee spot that blends cozy charm with modern flair. The moment you walk in, the bright decor and welcoming vibe make it a perfect place to unwind, study, or catch up with friends. Their menu is packed with tempting treats like Belgian waffles, lotus crepes, funnel cakes, and a variety of gelato flavors the pistachio and Nutella options are especially popular. For drinks, you’ll find rich Turkish coffee, hazelnut lattes, and refreshing smoothies that are as visually appealing as they are tasty. The staff is friendly and often lets you sample gelato before you decide. While it can get busy during peak hours and prices lean slightly toward the premium side, most visitors agree the quality and presentation make it worth it. Whether you’re in the mood for a sweet escape or looking for a chill hangout with great vibes, Sweet Drip delivers a satisfying experience. It’s a must-visit if you're in Hyde Park and have a soft spot for well-crafted desserts and specialty drinks.
I had the most amazing pistachio ice cream! The chocolate and mint chocolate chip was great too. Coffee on point after a long day. The place was wonderful and let us try flavors first. They had cute chairs and tables to sit. Everyone was soo friendly . Definitely would come back.
The coffee and custard cake was delicious, but the service was perfection! When again I visit Chicago, I will be getting my coffee here! 🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I invite everyone to visit this shop and get to know Mr. Hassan. The waffles are very delicious and Dubai Chocolate is amazing.

My daughter and I visited Sweet Drip on a 90° day to celebrate her accomplishements. We spent $40 on Dubai chocolate covered strawberry's, banana split and drinks. The service we received was extremely slow even though we were 2 of 7 people in the store at that time and 3 people were already seated with their purchase. It was just as hot inside as it was outside. The drinks we got out of the cooler were warm and we asked for 2 cups of ice. We were only given 1 half cup of ice and when we asked for another because we had 2 drinks we were told that they were all out of ice. We could clearly see the compartment filled with ice. The chocolate and Strawberries were warm as well and yes, the picture is how it looked when the top was removed. The ice cream for the banana split was chippy. Cashier was not friendly, welcoming nor willing to give any information to 1st time customers.
Prices are crazy! I understand it’s because of location but when you’re looking at opening up a sweet shop, you need to understand that people aren’t going to pay $20 for a waffle and crape. And six dollars for the smallest piece of baklava I’ve ever had crazy…You need to find another location and lower your prices!!!
My fiance was craving an Matcha Latte so we came here to kill some time while our son was at Bball practice.
The first thing I noticed upon walking in was how clean the shop was. The owner waited on us and he was very hospitable and informative!
We ordered a Karak Tea, Pistachio Matcha Latte, Coconut Gelato and Pistachio rolls…everything was excellent !
Highly recommend and will return weekly

Pistachio Matcha Latte was so good! I ordered it minimally sweetened and it was perfect. Great service. Love to see small, local establishments thrive.
Dubai ice cream was horrible. Server at the window racially profiled my daughter (African American), brother (Indian) and myself (African American). She was rudely condescending with my daughter In assuming because she saw me with my brother and assumed we were in a romantic relationship. My daughter ordered and she asked “Oh I’m sorry, were you talking to me?”. Then when we were ringing up, she ask my brother- while I was away “ is this for your daughter?”.
My brother and I will never go back. We aren’t missing much anyways . Kilwen is right up the street.
