Came in for a good time and dancing, but the DJ totally missed the mark. Music lacked variety and energy—people were leaving early. He didn’t read the room or switch things up. Either step it up or step aside.

Everything was great they only play Latin music but I guess it’s what they are used to maybe mix it up a little bit.

Came for Sunday brunch for my friends bridal get together and I had a great time! Music was a vibe! Thank you Elizabeth and Daley for continuing to check in on us and making sure we had what we need. The bride enjoyed her afternoon and we all felt comfortable . We will definitely be returning for other brunch Sundays coming up.

Cute atmosphere, small menu, priced for the west loop.
I've given Tabu a 3 based on the limited variety, the food was good, nothing that wowed.

Food used to be great but the dinner menu has been changed and not to something better but worse. NO MORE LOBSTER FLAUTAS! The waitress was so kind, she explained that some items had been taken off the menu 2 months ago. We will not be coming again as most of the items are overpriced and you’re supposed to buy multiple $18 tacos. Mostly a bar now with only one hour of happy hour.

Avoid at all costs. Classless people stole my friend’s coat & security said it happens all the time. Bartenders held my credit card even after we were asked to leave. The staff should worry less about ambiguous security protocols that are clearly lacking & more about their service, patrons, & operations.
EDIT 5/30/25: Tabu Chicago tried up-charging $100 on the credit card that was left behind. This charge was disputed with the bank which found that the charge was fraudulent. This type of criminal business practice should not be tolerated by any paying customer. It is also a reoccurring issue based on some of the other reviews.
The atmosphere makes this place but service lacks tremendously. It seems like there’s too many tables to a single server. Drinks are strong and good but to order another one, be prepared to wait.
Food is alright. Nothing to brag about. We had lobster flautas and a hint of lobster was even a hard miss. The octopus is nothing to boast about. The salmon was flavorful and the al pastor tacos at $8 a piece were difficult to indulge because of the texture & temperature. I wouldn’t go back.

Skip it. One of the worst brunch experiences I’ve had in Chicago. I’ve never been a restaurant where it was so hard to get someone to give me food and drinks in exchange for money. There are places with better food, better service, and a better ambiance at this price.
If you want more details, our reservation was for 2:00. The waitress didn’t check on us for 40 minutes, then told us that they weren’t doing bottomless at that time because there were only 20 minutes remaining for brunch service. This was the reason we chose the restaurant, but fine.
We asked a question and she disappeared for another 10 minutes, in spite of JUST telling us we only had 20 minutes to get an order in. We eventually had to go up to the bar to ask someone to come take our order.
Things did not improve from there. For example:
- We ordered a bottle of sparkling wine. The bottle fizzed up and spilled when the waitress opened it, and then the waitress spilled more when she poured it. No offers to comp anything in spite of a quarter of the wine we paid for going on the floor.
- It took over an hour for us to get our food, and we didn’t get all of it because they stopped serving brunch even though we were told we just had to put our order in by 3:00.
- The manager came over to us after all of this to I guess explain how their brunch timing works?? It was the weirdest conversation, he didn’t really apologize and his explanation was pointless. Like, we understand how you do things and why, it’s just a bad system.

A Valentine’s Day to Remember!
We came here for Valentine’s Day, and WOW—what an unforgettable experience! From the incredible food to the top-tier hospitality, everything exceeded our expectations. The management and staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great time.
Now, about the food…
🔥 Korean Tacos – Bursting with flavor, these were an instant favorite.
🐍 Rattlesnake Burger – The perfect balance of heat and savoriness, with sauces that elevate every bite. My only wish? A little more spice! If you order something called "Rattlesnake" and don’t expect a bite, that’s on you. 😂
Yes, you might see reviews mentioning slow service, but here’s the real deal: management here is ON IT. If you need anything, they make it happen.
Huge thanks to the team for making our day so special—we’ll definitely be back!
