Taiyaki one of my fav desserts and this place looked legit. Although the traditional Taiyaki were undercooked and not even filled enough to fill any bean flavor :(

It’s awful it’s basically water down slushy it’s awful it was so bad I ending up throwing it away, it’s probably the worse ice cream / smoothie in Chicago area,

Don’t get the traditional taiyaki; we spent $19 with tax for six small, undercooked, mushy, barely-filled taiyaki. Think overbaked mochi, but more dry. There wasn’t a single air bubble in the dough. Filling was only in the middle 1/4 of the fish, and flowed out the hole in the top whenever you bit anywhere else. Custard was thin and had a slightly granular texture. Service was courteous and efficient, at least. I may just sound picky, but I couldn’t finish my three fish even with the sunk cost hanging over my head. Maybe the ice cream isn’t like this, but don’t waste your money on just taiyaki.

When I visit family in Japan, I often enjoy a taiyaki - served warm with red bean jam , the pastry is crispy on the outside, airy in the center and not so thick. Taiyaki Chicago, however, is pretty average. The anko jam needs the refinement, although the taste was good. The pastry was disappointing. It is far too thick, stodgy and undercooked. It was a shame.

Unique place. We have discovered taiyaki in Japan and were happy to find them in Chicago. The combination of taiyaki and ice cream is quite tasty. When you finish ice cream, you are left with nice warm pastry and creamy filling.

Such a wonderful place! I really appreciated the vegan options. The black sesame ice cream is top-shelf! I selected the Taiyaki with ube. Chef's kiss. The tiny mochi just topped everything off! My daughter loved her peanut butter stuffed Taiyaki. Great location. Great atmosphere.

Vegetarian options: The vegan options are marked with a "V" on the wall.

We are from out of state and drove 30 minutes out of the way to try this place. We walked in and were not greeted. Instead it was I who said, hello how are you today? Then even after stating we were new customers the lady behind the counter offered no advice on what to order. She was rude and it seemed, me and my daughters were annoying her. Though it made for a cute picture, the dessert itself was horrible. We pulled over and threw our two treats in the trash. $18.00 down the drain. I would not recommend.

BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES. They said it was vegan but I had an allergic reaction... I'm only allergic to dairy and eggs. Use caution. Also, they got my order wrong.

stumbled upon this soft serve place last year and it’s soo good and affordable!! What’s even better is that it’s Dairy Free!! My favorite is their matcha with crushed oreos and my bf is obsessed with their chocolate shake with oreos. We tried the taiyaki but didn’t love the texture but that’s just us (more on the doughy side) but love everything else!!

Not good. Don't bother. The batter of the tayaki is flavorless and has none of that amazing mochi chew. The custard filling was liquid. Our tayaki was undercooked so it was both mushy and there was raw batter on the inside. I would not come back here.

The soft serve is all dairy free and the menu isn’t huge but it is all delicious. We do the Oreo toppings, mochi, and apple base.
